Thanks for that... I forgot one other Audio issue. I run a USB for my tunes. In the xB, I had it plugged in all the time, and when I started the vehicle, it just picked up where I had left off last time I drove the car. In the new Tacoma, Everytime I get in the truck and Start it with the USB plugged in still, I have to "choose" the USB drive on the touch screen, and then the damn thing starts off at the first song on the drive... EVERY TIME I start it. Seems like there's something wrong with that.

Every time I think about this thread, the shortcomings I haven't mentioned, surface in my thoughts. The xB (again 4 grand cheaper car with tons more interior room and a sporty ride) had HD radio as a Standard... not an option. The Base model Tacoma does not. I will likely be hunting a different radio along the line some day... The Sound Quality is fine. Just disappointed in having them put in a touch screen radio with all the features missing. (I didn't want navigation, so that's no big deal) I'd be fine with features that all work and a Normal "non-touch screen" radio.

I know... "Whiner" This will be my last complaint post. From now on I want to learn things like how to improve on what I have. I'm loving the Grill Mods threads. Some cool ideas there.

Why the shark fin and antenna? My wifes car does all the same stuff (SAT, HD, AM, FM, GPS) with the fin, so this one escapes me.

Rear seat console-mounted vents in DC models would be a nice touch.

Quite petty in the grand scheme... it's a truck after all.

Going from a full size ram to my Tacoma it just seems like the bed is so fragile. It's disappointing knowing that I have to spend money on something that shouldn't have been an issue or something that should've been in it to begin with.

Fixed what I was trying to say below.

Sorry was half asleep when I typed that. What I was trying to say is that it's disappointing that the bed is not as functional as my old truck's was.

the only thing I dont like about my 07 is the driveline vibration that seems unfixable. After dealing with it for 5 months, i'm more or less used to it now!

I ran into the same issue as you but have fixed it now. I originally was using an iPod touch. Leaving it connected all the time. When I turned on my truck it would default to the radio. I think it was because turning on the truck started charging the iPod and woke it up but not quick enough. So the head unit didn't see the iPod at first. So it went to radio.

After reading a thread here, I bought a tiny USB 32GB drive. About the same size as a BT set. I loaded it up with music in folders sorted by artist. Now when I turn on my truck it picks up at the same spot on the same song that I was at when I turned it off. Works great for about $25.

I haul motorcycles quite a lot and just to do that I'll probably have to reinforce the tailgate, add extra d-rings, and modify the rear suspension to keep from bottoming out.

Which has nothing to do with a fragile bed.

Bed has been fine for everything I've thrown in it

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Having to buckle the passenger seatbelt so my dog can ride up front without setting off the annoying alarm. Leaf spring squeak used to bother me until I got the TSB done, the old Dunlop tires sucked from day one, but I fixed that. I love the mileage of my 4 banger combined with the 5 speed manual. Not much to hate about this truck really.

Never read any complaints about the seats being so close to the floor. I guess, no problem for everyone to have their legs stretched out for long periods. Taco needs to get with the times with four wheel disc brakes, and rear coil springs. Factory sunroof, and a sports style steering wheel would be welcomed.

Just a few features "borrowed" from the 4Runner parts bin would be welcome. Wouldn't have to be much and wouldn't really have to raise costs (even though we know they would).

And yeah I'm with you.... You can keep the sunroof. I have never liked them.

Not having intermittent wipers as standard equipment. Its the only thing i dont like about my 2014. I know its a small thing, but its annoying as hell. I know if i got the sr5 package i could have had them but you would think in 2014 something like intermittent wipers would be standard regardless of the model. I have a touch screen radio, power locks, power windows, power mirrors, cruise control, but no intermittent wipers...

The Taco having a slim silhouette, necessitates a shallow seat close to the floor, so that there is some(very little) headroom. Those suffering from claustrophobia like me require a sunroof, just to relax.....jus sayin. Anyone complain about the straight leg driving? I have to get out, and walk it off after awhile. Still would have no other p.u.... well oiled machine she is.

I am very happy with my 2013 taco, what a upgrade from my 96 4x4 extra cab sr5 base model, this one feels so advanced. I agree with the above posts there are some simple things that could have been added with a different trim package.
cargo light, all up/down power windows, power back slider, locking gas door, lighted switches, heated mirrors/ steering wheel, sound/ rattle proof cabin, front parking sensors, power fold mirrors, tailgate power lock, 110v in cabin

But if you want some of these options buy a range rover not a tacoma.

I think I'm one of the only ones that likes the low seats in the truck. I know it has to be that way due to the "rake" of the windshield (which I love by the way) but I find the driving position comfortable.
