I took a ride in my friend's Ram yesterday and the computer was calculating an average fuel economy of 13mpg. I am so very happy with the 24mpg I'm getting in my Tacoma!

EDIT: looks like Fuelly has calculated my average at over 24mpg (below)

I owned a Dodge Dakota Club Cab (Eq. to an Tacoma Access Cab) for 8 years and it was a very nice riding truck, but I never got better than 16.5 MPG and that was on highway trips. Normal combo driving was never better than 14. My new Tacoma right off the dealer lot combo driving is 18+ ... call me a happy guy!! :)

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
I'm getting 8mpg on this tank. And 10mpg on the last... fuck me

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
08 4.0L 4wd AC. With summer (Dunflops) I get between 18.5 and 20. With winter (GY Duratracs) I get between 16 and 18. I tow a reasonable amount which doesn't help my Fuelly stats. Towing is between 12 and 16.

UPDATE ... Just got back from first road trip and on the last 2 tanks was very careful to keep the tach close to the 2K mark ... 21.1 MPG on one and 20.85 MPG on the last. Truck only has 3500 miles on it and seems to have a sweet spot for mileage between 68 and 71 MPH. I expect that will get better as miles on the truck increase.

Im wondering if most of these double cabs are 2X4 claiming 20+ mpg in town.

Mine gets 16.5 with mixed driving and I get going around 80mph on the weekends. Im only 16miles from work during the week but travel 120 miles on the freeway each weekend.

Check my fuelly sig below. Best tank was 22.5.

They changed our fuel in Iowa last month. They went from selling 89 (with and without ethanol) to now selling 87 (with and without ethanol). My MPG's have gone down since.

My best MPG's has been with 91 non-ethanol.

When i moved from iowa to kansas, i was mad because my car was tuned for 93 (available there @ BP and Shell) and nothing over 91 here..

now they dropped me to 87 with or without ethanol.. Next they will be pushing 86..

Sucks i didnt realize they changed it up there as well.

Which is it guys, sounds like you are saying only 87 is available.

You can both get 91 still correct? 87 has been the bottom for decades and 89 never was a grade that manufacturers recognized. Totally a marketing octane.

At least you can get E0.

And it's gotten cold, my mpg tanked too.

I can still find 91, but only in larger towns. Here in Ames (50k people) there are 2 stations that carry 91 e0. When I go my hometown none of the gas stations up there have anything over 87 now.

The 91 is about 55-60 cents higher than 87 e10, 87 e0 is in between somewhere..

Right now, about 13MPG city and 18-20 on road trips with mixed cities/country highway. All my city trips are less than 10 miles, typically stop and go traffic, up and down hill, which is why my MPG is so crappy. That and heavy tires. I run premium. I'm happy with my truck.
