Anyone know of any tacomas with a 50" Led Bar on the roof? Want to see some pics first before I commit to a 50" vs a 40"

Next question, Thank you by the way. 40 or a 50? 40 will mount on the FR Rack no issues, the 50 will hang over and probably need to be mounted to the truck in a similar fashion to the link provided.

What is that cory? I broke a bolt off the other day and had to drill it.

 

That stuff isn't that strong in a flat orientation

 

My vote would be rack mount 40"

 

Thats where I was in the beginning too. 40" it is.

 

It's got 5 cross slats running left to right with 3 cross slats running top to bottom out of 2x4 and the outside perimeter out of 2x10. legs made out of 2 2x4 made into L shape with three singular legs running from left to right on middle slats. The osb is literally just so the memory foam mattress has a place to lay on it.

Main reason is my old bed was over 10 years old and just tired of the squeaking springs in the box spring and mattress. Got a great deal on the new mattress. and wanted a platform bed for a while. Shopped around and they were 200+ for a decent one made with 1x1 slats. Spent 40.00 on materials (minus paint, sealer, primer, putty) and feel like I have a pretty sturdy bed. Now just need to get an area rug to put under the bed to save the wood floors. and paint everything.

 

I'm no means a carpenter but I feel like I did a good job. Plus now have tons of storage under the bed.

 

Sounds like you supported it well

When you said " bed platform " before I thought you meant for the bed of the truck and imagined it only being supported at the edges

 

LOL no. Bed for my house. I'll post up some better pics tomorrow after I get it all puttied up and sanded down and painted. And the bed in it. Made the legs a little too long and had to take them off and cut them down but now is the perfect height.

Well they aren't quite that bad, but I was hoping to have new tires by now. This will most definitely be their last winter.
