A lot of salesman use cars.com and autotrader to get buyers on the lot. They post a price that is really low so you show up. My Grandad has been a dealer for over 30 years now and says tons of dealers do this as getting people there as that is half the battle. If you can get a KR for that price GREAT, but I highly doubt that when you get there it will be the same price. I would go to true car or f150 forums to get pricing. Just remember that cars.com and site like it are a salesman tool.

Yeah, I get that...just like it used to be with the newspaper ad, and they had 1 of those particular vehicles on the lot and the rest were $10k more. Definitely agree that tactic still exists. If and when the day comes that I buy a new truck, I'll just use the same method I did before...get a purchase contract written up and take the completed cashier's check with me. I often drive/fly long distances for the best deal possible, so I have to make sure that everything is done and squared away before I get out there. I definitely agree with you that some dealers use that BS still, though.

Sure, but when the company designs such a piece of garbage (in particular, the heads on the 4 and 5 banger Colorado and Canyons were junk and went as early as 20K) and then tells the consumer in no real order to shut up and pay for it, that they "didn't know" about their own written warranty, and that this is normal for a vehicle 5 yrs old..well I am not spending 20 grand of my hard earned money to buy a new truck every 5 years that is that poor in terms of reliability

I agree with ABA180, I would be happy to buy a truck fromFord or Chevy but when selling the customer a piece of crap is just part of businessthen I’m out. I’ve owned three new Chevy4x4 trucks and on two of them I took a total screwing having to trade themwithin a year. One of them wasn’t toobad but not great but at least I had that one for four years before it startedto fall apart. It was at that point Ibecame a little less patriotic and a little smarter and bought a Toyota. I just don’t have the time or money to getscrewed while some billionaire CEO sits in his office laughing at me.

I've owned a 2007 Silverado with the dammed G80 locker. Whata piece of trash. It wont engage until one tire is spinning (breaking traction) basically. So when it engages it's pretty much a guaranteed fish tail and just gets you in more trouble. I've owned a several lockers in my jeeps and different axles and the g80 is just a bad idea.

Standing by your product and your word are values I hold as American, and GM failed miserably in those areas in my eyes.

The sad truth is though. All car companies are out for your money, and will shave little things off to save it. In the end, Toyota is no different, sadly. They built trucks on frames that rotted out beneath them, and maybe they didn't know that would happen on the 1st gens. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, but now 2nd gens are doing it. A few years back they knowingly built Camerys with bad transmissions, and then gave the customers are hard time when their new cars wouldn't move.

I wish all of the business world was more honest and out to sell a truly good product, but its not like that. Greed gets in the way. I think Toyota used to be that way, but things have changed.

I test drove a 2014 short bed regular cab GMC Sierra. I thought it was pretty nice but a bit too wide for the small space available in my garage. I went with a new Taco, but I had no complaints regarding the ride and comfort of the Sierra.

I could not agree with you more GM truck frames rot as badly as the Taco's ever hear of a GM dealer replacing a frame? This was one of GM's biggest problems a vehicle designed by accounts.

why is this a "sad truth"?
care companies are like any other company...large or small, they are in business for profit.

No kidding. But the sad part is ripping you off with an inferior product. Not just making money. That was my point.
