Then an email to the company with this photo attached should suffice......

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
Got the driver's side head off tonight. No luck hoping it was just a bent valve. Everything looks good -- oily, but good.
While I wasn't planning on pulling the passenger side head, it's pretty much ready to go at this point, so it wouldn't really be all that hard. I might do that some time this week.
I'll get out and turn it over a few times by hand to see if I can feel for a rod. At this point, I think that's the problem.
Looks like I'm headed for a swap.

If anyone can recommend a place that can get a low-mileage used engine, I would really appreciate it. I'm going to make a few calls tomorrow, but I'd love as many leads as possible.

Wow! Great story. Sorry to hear about the truck. I like the part about not worrying about you because of your prep (big kudos for that). I can relate about being super busy as I have 7yo twin girls, but somehow killed 1.5 hrs reading through this when I have 100 things to do. Someone mentioned pitching in $? In in too. Serious Let me know how? Tough with the holidays but that's a great cause in my book and I'd like to wheel with you sometime (If I can find the time!)

    Who totaled it??
As far as insurance is concerned, the truck spent the entire weekend in the garage. They've heard enough from me this year I don't want to give them a final reason to cancel me. Of course, if they ever want to physically inspect it, I'm gonna have some 'splaining to do.

    Any guesses? (I know!)

Pulled them out of the oil pan while fishing around for a wayward bolt. Instantly recognized what it was when the first piece came out.

Pretty unmistakable what it is (especially if you've ever had an engine apart).

The two pieces don't fit precisely, and I can tell the metal underwent some mind-blowingly insane stresses. Hell, the engine ran at 1200 rpm for three full seconds without a sound, and another two seconds of clanking, all while sucking oil into an already-stuffed cylinder.
