If they made the M/T-R or KM2 in a 35x10.50, I would have been all over it. Didnt mean to bash on fiberglass, but I really just dont like the look.
I didnt just get the axle for fun. There a some big gains with it. Stong Full Float axles, 9.5 ring gear, Toyota E-locker, and disc brakes... I will have around $500 in it by the time its ready. Most of that extra cost is from having to source backing plates that where not destroyed.
oh heck yea.... SOOO much easier...

I'm assuming you have 4x4 still what's the plans for front cv's? Will the tacoma ones even work? Are they strong enough?

Yes, My truck is still 4x4, and its all hooked up ready to go. I know its a weak point, but I dont plan of pushing the front end too hard. I plan to start collecting spare CV axles...

O for sure. If you drive smart and don't Madram11 it they'll last a very long time. I've broken 2 axles so far. Both have been manufactured faults, and one was from NAPA. Blah!

Oem is the way to go

hmm, not opposed to 275's, but theres still the fact that some people in my family cant get into a lifted truck on 35's.

Also, have you considered tundra CV's? supposedly with a little modification they fit in the stock spots from what i understand

    No they don't.

they are 3.5'' wider then stock CVs. Only way to use them is with a full Long travel kit.

    ...too much shit to list.

    :gossip:
Overall length is 3.75" wider than stock (fully compressed).
Flange to flange itself is a hair over 3.5"

yea I have heard people having issues with Napa, and other part store CVs... Doesnt seem like a Lifetime warranty is worth a crap if you cant keep them in your truck.. I watched a few of your video, and a few times I cringed, but you are 100% right. If you know what you are doing, and can hear/feel what your truck is doing and wants to do you can save yourself and CV.... Kinda like a Taco whisperer... (Insert dirty joke here) As far as the Tundra CVs go, I think (not sure) that they are longer. the only time I have seen anyone talk about running them was in an Long Travel set up....

Well I'm by no means "rambunctious" when it comes to wheeling haha. There are a few spots in some of the videos where a good sized bump is required in order to pop the front up. I think the biggest thing is leaving the front diff open. Not being locked in the front helps a lot, especially for those failed attempts at climbing something then sliding back down and having the suspension and drive train loaded with the weight of the truck.

Btw...we need some video of this bad boy merging onto the freeway :D V8 powwaaaa!

Yea I know what you mean. I have no plans on locking the front end. I have an 87 4runner that is my trail rig... Im the worlds worst at saying "I'll go easy", then get to spot and think, just a little harder.. before you know it, Im dumping the clutch from red line in 2nd gear.... :D
PS- As soon as I get it on the road I will post videos... No one on this planet wants it drivable more than me....

A small update. Finally my exhaust flanged are headed my way. (today or tomorrow I hope) ResizedImage951386548662072_62d38a938439c4e93cb99c018b1e820cfe544020.jpgAlso, my truck only has 3 tires at the moment.. Its a long story, but the short version is this, the inner bead on one tire got ripped. I am waiting now a new tire... sigh.. there is always something right? I hope to have the most of the exhaust done this week/weekend solong as the weather gets its act together...

I have not mocked any tube work up yet, but I dont see where its going to be too tough. It will be tight, but there is enough room to work. The handbrake cable lever deal might be in the way, but I dont know yet.

Huh?? LOL I have emissions testing, and this truck WILL pass inspection. No hood stack, or open header action for me. Plus, the sound of an open header/manifold v8 is only appealing for 15 seconds at a time LOL Side note, I do have a cummins with a 5" straight pipe... that sound NEVER gets old.. arhh arhh arhh arhh

i meant you cant just do it the easy way and run open headers if you have emissions lol, however it will still sound badass with the right setup im sure lol
