What’s the best way to keep cats off of your property?

Well it looks like there are at least two cats that likes to poo on my lawn and apparently cat poo stick really bad. What’s the best way to keep them off of my property without pulling out the BB gun or kicking one like a football?

 

hahaha.. That’s what my co-worker said but I have an open yard so its not going to help much. I'm thinking about trapping them and turning them in to the shelter. I also found a few products on Google but I’m looking for something on the cheap.

 

when i was having those issues, i sprayed ground pepper on the dirt and they stopped for a while. they also sell stuff at pet shops for this.

 

good loud firecracker...gets them everytime.

 

kill one and hand it right at the property line that always works for crows

 

Put a catmint plant at the very edge of your yard. Maybe they will find little reason to proceed.

 

get some spray or something. or a dog

 

A gun followed by a trash bag, and possibly followed by a fire for any collars and a good believable "I haven't seen your cat at all, Mrs. Baker."

Get some lion or tiger piss (bought at a good feed/tack store) and spray it all over the place. Keeps all kinds of animals away.

This might sound crazy but my wife works at a vet clinic and this came from her boss, it worked for my Mom. One of the best ways to deter a cat is human hair. If they are pooping in one specific area like your flower gardens, till in some hair or sprinkle it on the top of the dirt. The next time you get a hair cut ask if you can take the clippings, they'll look at you like you're a freak but this works pretty well. Another thing is cats hate citrus. You can slice up an orange and put the pieces around that area, it will work for a few days. Your local pet store like Petco or Petsmart will also carry a powder you can sprinkle around the areas as well, but it's just a citrus type powder so some oranges might be cheaper.
They also hate human male urine. Go out in the middle of the night and piss in their favortie spots. Works most of the time and if it doesn't, well it was free!

 

I use the cat-trap method. Once in the trap, I get the garden hose and give kitty a long, high-pressure shower. It usually works.

 

If you shoot them, i promise they wont come back

 

I had to trap a cat a few years back. It kept pissing on my front porch and leaving piles of crap in my front flower bed. I used the live trap and took it out of the city and let it go. Have not had any probs since.
