So I got to see the new Tundra in person yesterday and I really like the new look. (I'm still mad that the Tundra got like 3 redesigns and Tacoma hasn't had any).

Anyway I was thinking what if the new tacoma was like the tundra but 15% smaller? I'd really like that!

They will... They will add a new sticker and call it redesigned.

The entire Tacoma front end changed starting with 2012's unless you missed it.

DCSB Tacoma is already within a 15% size difference of the Tundra also. If it gets any bigger then no point in calling it a mid-size anymore, and it is already in the grey area in comparison with past mid-size trucks.

Minor changes to body work isn't redesigning it. The OP is talking about a whole new truck.

EDIT: Sorry if that sounded douchey.

Yes, I'm talking TOTAL redesign, not aesthics crap.

I'm not talking about size here, I'm saying if the tacoma was a minature tundra, I would like that. I like the look.

Lol everything on the internet sounds douchey depending on how you read it:D

Bring me up to speed, I'm not too knowledgeable on the changes the Tundra has received, but I hadn't thought the Tundra has seen a major overhaul either. One interchanged V8 engine and a few interior alterations here and there seems to be all that has been done.

Changes in safety features, headlights and tail lights, and stereos seems to be about the same as what the Tacoma has seen, minus a few other features here or there for the Tundra.

Again just curious, what major redesigns has the Tundra seen?

They should call it Tundra Jr. Edition

Look at the 4runner. That will give you a hint at what the new Tacoma will look like.

    ^^I agree^^

I think the Tacoma is due for a redesign but I personally hope it isn't drastic. I personally love the redesign of the front in 2012. Part of the reason I traded for a 13 from the 11 (that and to have 4wd). I personally love the look of the body on the truck. Yes it is getting dated but I hope they keep the "rake" of the windshield and just slight modifications to the rest. The interior could use some updates but they could take that directly out of the 4Runner parts bin and make it look great!

As far as powertrain goes... I hope they leave it alone (mostly). The V6 has been around forever and it is now legendary for it's reliability. Yes I know some of you want a Diesel option and that is fine. I wouldn't buy it buy I can see why there would be a market for it. If they do change up the powertrain then it will be a few years before I consider buying one so they can get most of the bugs worked out of them.

    My $.02

Slight updates are fine. Idk why they don't do this but if I was an auto maker I would actually do voting on new body styles and take in criticism and such.

Changing body panels is no big deal, but keep the solid drive train and engine. Introduce a diesel sure but never get rid of the 4.0 L :p

I disagree. I want to see a new drive train. I know we won't get a diesel or hybrid, but I would like to see something like a 3.5l with direct injection and dual VVT producing the same power as the 4.0l while getting 25 mpg highway. This technology is proven reliable and I think this is something Toyota would actually do. I don't want to see it get bigger!

Does anyone know for sure if there is a 2015 Tacoma redesign? I thought the redesign was a done deal basedon what I’ve read on the net but haven’t really see anything from Toyota. I’m currently holding off on buying a 2014Tacoma because I don’t want to buy the 2014 to find out the 2015 is a muchnicer truck. What I’d like to see in theredesign is a little larger truck with a small V8 option. This may be only wishful thinking but I’veread these may be possibilities.

Removed factory bed cover and installed UnderCover Elite. Added LOCKERDOWN console safe.
For people like me who sell them I am happy with the new truck not looking like a Dodge anymore. The Ford is just better looking than the Dodge (IMO).
I was happy as hell with the look, it has to look like something.
