LS1-T56 swap, Z06 ported heads, cam, Titanium valves, Kevlar clutch. Now building a forged stroker (383) and all the ponies! Old setup was rod-knockin on heaven's door...
Finally doing it, I recently bought 2 Honda CR500r bikes, both in amazing condition, one had a bad transmission which I already fixed (3 bad shift forks, and 2 bad gears) so I have that motor sitting on my bench ready to modify the cylinder and do some porting and rehone the cylinder and some new rings)

So now I finally have that 500 motor that ave become extremely hard to find anymore, or if not hard to find, people sure do want a lot of cash for them!!

So now I need a donor bike, I found one, while its not a Yamaha YZ like I wanted, its a 2005 Honda CRF250R and it still has a motor and runs for $1k. Been looking forever, and my buddy finally is selling me his!

There sre kits you can buy to give you most the parts needed for the swap and once I get back after the TG weekend I am gonna pick up the CRF.

I should have all built within a few weeks since I wll be racing this bike in D37 and D38 desert series as well as WORKS and any Extreme enduro in Ca and Nevada.

I have wanted to build one of these bikes for over 10 years and now it time!

I am gonna start a new thread outlining the build process for anyone who might want to do the same.

Meanwhile I am taking my Yamaha YZ295 out to Havasu for 5 days to ride, ride, ride! Too bad I will be solo the whole time.

I NEED MORE EXPERIENCED RIDING BUDDIES, sniffle...

    I don't ride anymore last bike was a 2006 YZ250
Never liked the 4chokes. I liked 2 strokes because you have to know how to ride and they need more input clutching shifting. Not just put it in 2nd 3rd gear and twist the throttle... Also back in the day 2strokes were the bike of choice and 4chokes were slow and heavy.

    Sexy

my second to last GP race on my 00 YZ250, been 5 years since I have been on a dirtbike, 1 year since I have done downhill. If work pans out like I hope it will I should have another smoker in the next year or so.

My 1998 CR250 trail slayer. She's in the process of getting rebuilt right now. Just had new piston and rings done, getting it reassembled with a bunch of new goodies. Will post more pics after rebuild. This is my first 2 stroke and i won't ever go back to a 4 stroke, for trails especially. I dont care what anyone says, yeah 4 strokes are cool and all but IMO they take some of the fun out of riding. The snappiness of the 2 stroke and hearing it roll into the powerband just adds to the whole experience.

Plus they smell fantastic. I know what you mean, there is something magical about a two stroke!

If we are going purely by smell then it's all about that MAXIMA pre mix. Oooooo does that smell so good.
