Nope not really! :D I go to "work" with a smile on my face and that's something I'm thankful for!

That's awesome! Hopefully you can keep it that way. Very few of us can say that. My good days at work far outweigh the bad. The bad days can be pretty rough but luckily enough they are usually pretty far between.

It's good to know that that's the case. I've only known one firefighter well in my life and he has to be one of the toughest guys on the planet.

Essentially an Engineering Project Manager. In North Dakota. I work outside. After this winter I'm thinking it might be time to move to the desert since it was -43 with windchill a couple of nights back.

I think the "would you do it for free" question makes it almost impossible for anyone to honestly say yes to. We all have bills etc. I think a better question would be, Would you do it if you won the lottery. Say a couple hundred mill after their take.

I would be tempted to stop, even though I love my job. I have a daughter in 6th grade and a daughter in 10th grade and they grow so fast. I'm already getting that empty nest feeling when I think about how quickly they went from toddlers to teens. Unlike some parents I talk to, I am not looking forward to the day my girls leave home. So, I would be tempted to quite and make the most out of their free time to make some substantial memories without having to be "at work" and work around my schedule too. But, I suspect that after they are grown and gone, I would be like, .. what am I going to do now? I guess the wife and I could travel etc... so ... yeah, I would probably quite. lol

But I do really like my job, and the guys I work with. I guess I would just have to get used to going by the station as a visitor and hanging out from time to time.

Haha... If I won the lottery I would be Colorado bound. Arkansas would never see me again. The only reason I'm still here is because of my job. April of 2020 I'll be on the first thing smoking out of here. But hey... who's counting?;)

    Probably in the minority here:

I work in an undergraduate college doing academic advising and retention. On the side, I also do college admissions consulting for high school students applying to colleges (help with personal statements, application process, course selection strategy, etc).

So in short, I'm a salesman...I sell you and your kids dreams of a brighter future.

I saw your smiley. Your long term payment will be worth every minute of your time and be the best payment you'll ever get.

She is indeed off to an awesome start. Parenting is hard work these days. Congrats on raising a child who can empathize, and one without an overblown sense of entitlement.

Trust me, I see a lots of cases of entitlement in my job.
