    Not all of us don't have first hand knowledge. In the 90's everyone was balking about click ins. I demoed at least 10 different types in the late 90's early to mid 2000's and all of them have the same shortcomings at speed and toe control. Never touched them for almost 10 years. Gave them another shot 3 seasons ago as some of the technology changed. K2 and Burton both extended the footprint to "attempt" to get more boot to board contact. While it helped compared to 10 year old click ins, they still suck. You have to have a super stiff boot to get even remotely good board feel at the sacrifice of flexibly.
    For the once in a while rider or rookie that can't tell the difference, they are great cause they are fast to get in/out of (as long as snow doesn't build up in the click-in section). As with anything, it all boils down to personal preference and your riding goals.
