Mine aren't siped and are worn to half tread maybe less and they did just fine on the icy roads I drove on all weekend. I dropped them down to 25 psi though and it handles the ice a lot better than most everyone claims KM2's do. Doesn't mean you can get wreckless with them, but I only seem to slide with them when I want it to slide.

Dry, but very cold as well so there was a bit of ice on the ground. I went through extremely slushy stuff the year before last when they were new and had absolutely no drama.

No siping here. I was worried due to the wear, but I had no issues in the ice.

That's exactly the impression I got from them. Very stable except when I deliberately drive like an idiot.

I'm curious to see how the toyo mts handle in the snow and in icing conditions.

It's one thing if we drive like idiots, but sadly a lot of drivers on the road can't turn it off...

They look fairly good for 32K miles. Then again, I don't drive very aggressively. I'm still trying to ware the rears smooth after delaying a rotation about 12K miles.

When the roads get really slushy like that, my tires handle it great. Same with deep water when it is raining stupid hard here. Pretty sure it's the extra tread depth from an MT tire that is the factor here. My car handles horribly in the slush, but the Taco doesn't even act like it is there until it gets to be 4+" deep or so.

We got a few inches of very wet snow the other day (still stuck to the smallest of tree branches a few days later with low to mid 30's F temps). The temps have been around there for a while so the snow melted at first on the roads. I'm no snow expert but pretty sure this creates some of the slickest possible conditions. Now granted almost every car I saw was sliding around but if I did anything more than lightly use the brakes at more than a crawl I went sideways. And by lightly I mean my brake lights probably weren't coming on yet light.

Your tires look way better than mine and mine only have 12K-13K on them, but I had a pretty messed up alignment for quite some time because I only recently realized my UCA's were the problem, got that fixed now, but it's a little late for the tires. haha I also wheel the shit out of them in the sharp lava rock and it's not very nice to them...

Those were the conditions I was driving in when it really started snowing hard, feels like you are driving on a sheet of ice. Basically no matter what you are driving (expect for maybe chains or studs) you are in trouble... I try to avoid driving in those conditions due to fear of getting rearended more than fear of myself wrecking. I know how to slow down for those conditions while many don't...

When I go out driving I test the roads a little by giving it some throttle and/or stepping on the brakes aggressively to see what traction is like. I usually do tths in my parking lot before I ever get on the roads. I will periodically retest delending on how traffic around me is. A lot of times you just don't realize how slick the roads are until you try to stop quickly.

I always do the traction throttle / brake check when leaving the house too

X2.. spent all of Sunday morning learning how my new rear would react in the snow so if emergency time comes I know what to expect. Slammed on brakes turning both ways, over throttled it on turns both ways, and the same in strait lines.

Common sense isn't so common ...... Sadly.
