I run icons with spindles no preload and love them, street dirvimg is not sacrificed and on the dirt they perform great at high speeds haven't done much crawling sense I'm 2wd but just my opinion !

I would stick with the 650's

The 700's with no preload will still be a bit stiffer than 650's loaded a bit.

I have a friend who has had kings on all his trucks. 2 tacos and one gmc sierra. He says the icons rode much better after switching straight from kings. This guy breaks his truck often bc he charges tool hard, but if he hasnt broken them and he felt improvement right away i say the icons are better. Also if you actually go to the icon warehouse you will see all types of vehicles in there associate lot. When you go in the back you will see a lot of toyotas hacked apart. They lime toyotas and that is why anyone on this forum shoiuld pick them.

People arent just saying they are built for toyotas they are fabed on toyotas and they are tested on toyotas. None of the big three mentioned by sdhq have any toyota history at all.

I would never even consider icons for a ford chevy or dodge. I like icon but i would never pick them for those trucks bc of the history king and saw have with those platforms. Maybe saw the most out of those three for tacos but still not like icon. When i went there they had only toyotas in there warehouse from 90s big body land cruiser, fj, 4runner, tacoma and tundra.

Sorry to burst anyones bubble but if you break your icons its bc you suck at driving or your parts were defective. I dont thinmk anyone on this forum has a driver ability beyond the strength of those parts. If you use them reasonably they should be bullet proof.

If you find yourself rebuilding shocks alot then stick with the kings or fox. You might be the best driver ever to go beyond the icons limit, or the worst.

Matches my experience with Icon C/Os exactly. The digressive valving is great.

Both icon amd kings ride about the same. Its that icons were built or engineered better than kings.
Icons, you can adjust the height while its on the truck. Kings you would have to take it completely off the truck, clamp it down to adjust it. The icons have a set screw that holds the collar in place. The collar for the icons is also a solid piece.. Where the kings have a a collar the is split and uses a set screw tighten the collar.

Those are the real difference between the two

I didn't know you had to take your Kings off to adjust this...I thought you could adjust on the fly like Icons. I know I love my Icons but I thought about going with Kings but the no remote resi option on Kings killed the C/O debate for me. I don't really need a remote resi on my c/o so I went with Icons.:D

That's a downright lie. Icons fail all the time. Kings do not. Icon has well known issues with poorly engineered top hats and replaces them for free because they acknowledged the fact they screwed up. Kings have zero issues. Kings also hold up much better in the salt belt and that's a fact.

Now you tell me who has better engineering when your rusty icons blow out a top hat on the trail and leave you stranded while a guy with kings needs to rescue you.
    :)

Do you guys think this is good, or should I pass? Any and all suggestions welcome.

Truck: 2012 DCSB 4x4 trd sport

***I will be buying my parts through DSMS
    Parts: King RR 2.5 Coilovers
    King RR rear shocks
    TC upper control arms
    Dakar leaf pack
    Extended break lines

I called The Truck Shop (heard of them through TW) located in San Diego California. They quoted me $530 for everything installed with ride height adjustment. Not sure if alignment is included. Also not sure of the turnaround time.

    what do you guys think?

Thanks! its the best I came up with after months of research and my budget/needs.
I also plan to get a set of bumpstops front and rear soon after. Likely wheelers superbumps. Not sure yet though
