My outside temperature display is not working in my truck. So I go into my dealer for an oil change and I ask them if it would be under waranty ( I bought the extended warranty up to 160) and they said, they will check it for me. So I come back and they said nope, it would cost me like 1400 bucks to change it........ I was like YIKEs...... no thanks. So I look at my bill, they charged me .3 of an hour to tell me that it was not working........

Also, is it only me or when I check my oil in my truck, it's always over full by about 3/4 of an inch. I brought it in and they said that I need to check it right after it gets turned off and that is where I get my acurate reading. So when you let it sit, it will alway read over. Does this sound right???

My rear axle seal is leaking onto my shoes....... seal is warrantied but they had to charge me to change the shoes and the oil they put in. I had to beg for them to take time off of the .8 hr to change the shoes considering they were in there removing the seal. They finally dropped it to .5 hours... wow eh!

And does anyone else have problems where they change your air filter without asking you? It was replace 3 oil changes ago (about 4 months)

Funny how I have a Nissan Versa and it has been a nightmare......but the service at the nissan dealer....well, they bend over for me when I am in for service.

Oh well........... like I said, I just wanted to bitch a bit!

    Sounds like you got screwed.

I can understand your temp display not being covered because most extended warranties do not cover that sort of thing, but charging you for the shoes!?

I remember someone on here a week or two ago stated how they had the same issue with the axle seals leaking. His shoes were also covered in diff oil and were replaced free of charge under warranty. Let me see if I can find the thread...

they're thieves and try to get u for whatever they can. MAN UP and have them make shit right

jackasses tried to charge 'luni' for diagnosing a faulty alternator when he told them that was the issue...also they didnt even look at the alternator b/c they claimed on paper it was muddy and wet when it had been pressure washed completely out and dry before he took it in....crooked bastards

    Ha! The kids love it!

I have the 160 000 kms warranty.......so that is why they said they did not cover the shoes under warranty.

.3 of an hour to tell me the temperature display did not work... wonder what they did? Might of went like this:
Ok... it's not on, so now what? Well, I guess it's not working. Hold on, let me stretch my "screw the customer finger" before I push the button..........here I go.... WOW, it does not work..... ok, charge him for .3 of an hour.

The part that erks me the most is about checking your oil level. What they told you about the level being off due to waiting too long to check it after your engine has been turned off simply makes no sense--That would give you a more accurate reading. Stay far away from these people. Far, far away! Or do something to retaliate. Report this to consumer reports. If that's not something for you, try the flaming bag of dog poo on the doorstep.

WOW, I'm a service advisor for an L.A. toyota dealer and I'm even upset at what im reading! first off did they inform you up front that they would charge .3hr to inspect your compass? If you were not informed and given a written est then contact B.A.R thats a major no-no for the dealer. Second of all do a search on the compass repair, for the price of a solder gun you can make it work again or you can purchase the updated circuit board for about $150 at the dealer. Third off is I would bitch about them charging you for the shoes and the gear oil; a factory part was defective which caused other damage (i.e. the shoes) hence no fault of yours and absolutely no reason for you to pay for anything ESPECIALLY for the oil. Call the 800# asap, I'll be the first to admit I hate customer that bitch and moan but I also hate to see people getting dicked

    Thank you CJ.

Man, I have been in there 4 times for usuall service and everytime I did not have a "pleasant" experience.
Honestly, I just posted my truck on Kiijjiji cause I don't want to deal with them again... I was leaning towards a Prius to replace my Versa.
Sad cause if it happens to me, i must happen to everyone!

Here is one more........ I had a "tick" on the low setting of my blower heater fan. So they opened it up and found a mouse nest. All ok, but they put everything together charge me for it (I was ok to pay as it was nobody's fault) but the tick was NOT gone. So they ordered me a new blower fan and changed it. But I had to bring it to there attention!

Is there another dealer in your area? I'm not sure if you are aware of it or not, but you have the right to have your truck serviced or warranty work performed at ANY dealer in the nation, regardless of where you bought the truck from.

    That sucks. :(

My dealer has treated me good. They replaced the entire license plate lighting system in the bumper yesterday for free even though I was out of warranty by about 700 miles.

There's a TSB for weak tailgate. I don't know how that works in Canada.
