New Tacoma owner, base model 2013, 4 door, V6 and 4x4. I am looking to get just a possible 3 inch lift just for looks and bigger tires. I have heard nothing but good things about Bilstein shocks and bad things about leveling kits and spacers. For the lift, do I only need 2 shocks for the front? Do I need anything for the rear? And what type of Bilsteins Shocks do I need exactly, there a few to pick from. Thanks Taco owners.

Congratulations on your new truck and welcome to the forum. Recommend you visit the Suspension discussion forum and do some reading... a lot of reading and then come back with some specific questions. There's a lot of options available and a wealth of knowledge already documented here. Take advantage of it.

Get the Bilstein 5100 adjustable ones to run with stock coils. They will lift you from stock to 2.5" or regular 5100's with eibach coils. They will give you lil over 3" lift. Thats what Im running. For the rear you can go with 1.5" or 2" AAL (add a leaf) Stay away from the block lift.

Or you can get the OME (old man emu) with a new leaf pack. Spend the money up from and do it right. You will thank me later. Lifting my truck has been a see saw and wasted money going the cheap route at first. check out toyteclifts.com and wheelersoffroad.com

Thanks guys. Eddy, definitely looking at the Bilsteins. Thanks for the link. That seems to be everything in one, including AAL for the rear, correct.

Yup! you dont need the drop bracket! people say it doesnt even do anything. $30 saved there lol. Just make sure you pic the right AAL for your pack. it explains on the link. You will be happy with them because the ride is way better then stock.

Bilstein 5100's are a great start to a platform. But preloading coils to gain height causes a rough ride and screws with the travel of your new shock. Spend a little more money and buy springs that give lift without preloading them. OME 884,885,886 work great with bilstein 5100's

I'm pleased to say the alignment came out almost perfect from firestone. Did NOT want to buy new UCA's

Eddy, with the Eibach's first gens get 3" out of it but 2nd gens only get 1.6" without knocking the bilsteins to .85, which would then net you a little under 2.5"

Oh, okay. I know it gave me like 3.25" lift without the top plate spacer and it says the same thing for 2nd gen link. Maybe they should fix that hehe
