    Thanks.

$500 deductible but when someone else hits you I don't know that you have to pay a deductible. Obviously it's an easy repair db.. I have a spare set of tail lights anyway. That's not the point. And the bumper will be touched up with paint, not a fucking sharpie...

If I'll be getting a check from his insurance company for the cost of an Oem tail light, I want to go that route. If I have to pay a deductible that motherfucker better cover it. All I wanted from him was $100 and I told him that, but when he left the scene without exchanging phone numbers or anything he lost the right to work it out. The 3rd vehicle is requiring it to go through insurance anyway.

Don't you have to pay a deductible regardless of fault if you are using collision?

Glad you are safe Josh and that your bumper definitely did it's job.

We'll I'm glad it was just emotional stress....lol... a day off from work and a few beers will take care of that... plus you are going out west to board soon, and I'm sure it doesn't get much better than that for stress relief. ...
As far as the truck damage goes... besides that it sucks there is damage no matter how small it is, it does look like you had just enough luck (or a nice solid rear bumper) to have no bed side panel damage...

Ok, kids here's how it works. You pay your deductible and your insurance company covers the rest to get it fixed. Meanwhile they go after the other guys insurance, and assuming he's 100% at fault, actually has insurance, and that insurance company agrees their client is at fault, they get the full bill from his insurance company and reimburse you your deductible. Your rates do not go up, unless you have a shitty insurance company as previously mentioned and you should go find yourself a new one.

The only way you would have to pay a deductible is if you go through your insurance company to get the repairs done faster and the other party insurance will reimburse you. The damage you have you can still drive it so I wouldn't worried about it and just wait for an adjuster from his company to come out and write an estimate. I have been out of the insurance loop for almost ten years now but at the time they write the estimate they would cut a check for the damages.

:anonymous: I have NJM and there was a time in a three year period my wife was in two accidents both her fault and they still never raised my premium but she did get insurance points. They said the only way they would raise it if there was a pattern, I know there is a few other companies doing that too.

Every couple years or so one of your fellow officers decides to keep me from being eligible for Njm..

Can seem to go more than 2 years without a ticket and they require 3 years to be eligible for insurance :pout:

Maybe one of these will work?

    http://www.superbrightleds.com/more...bulbs/neox-led-bulb-instrument-panel-led/220/

I'm willing to give it a shot. Was going to do the LED swap for my map and dome lights anyway.

Gotta lay off the skinny pedal! :burnrubber:

@Josh you have to make your own! Just stick an LED in the bulb holder and solder a resistor to it. Kind of a PITA.

@chenbro - those SMD's will work too, they're just pricier than option A above. I recommend the ones that have a square LED (SMD) on top, much better coverage

These are all 5mm LEDs that I "made" with resistors on the back of the bulb holder

    IMG_3051_a3b0f546d0faa25f56bd1ee00cce0286d506d8e4.jpg

Don't have a pic handy of the soldering job, but I just stuck the LED leads through the bulb holder, resistor on back, bent them back up and into the contact thingies.

    Is NJM cheap? I haven't had a ticket since I was 19.

Eh, for the price I'd just rather let them deal with the soldering. I can do it myself but ain't got time fo dat!

Although, I do have a bunch of white PLCC-2 LED's leftover from when I did the led gauge swap and the arc reactor for my Tony Stark costume that one year... Is the stock bulb colored? I seem to remember reading that somewhere.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that if you can/want to wait to fix it you can to wait for a check from the other guys insurance so you don't have to front any money.

unfortunately yes like Aron said above....but if the repairs are far more than your deductible, your insurance will pay the rest and also get that from the party at fault....
If the repairs are less than deductible, they will wait for final invoice of parts and labor and get you that amount back....

Most refunds turn around quick in my experience. ...
