Haha! I'll put some pictures up of my drawings and later some quick sketchup renderings after I finish this school work

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
That rack and the tent are two of the single biggest purchases I need to complete so the fam can get out on a road/camping trip in comfort.

Well to give you an idea of what my idea looks like gets one of my preliminary sketches. I'm buying a mandrel tube bender soon, so I'll hopefully start building this in a couple months... hopefully sooner

I do eventually want to get something like that. I want to make it work with a tonneau cover and not as tall so I call still fit in parking garages.

I wish I had known about Light Force before I went down the dark path that is PIAA. I would love a set of their lights. Maybe when I grow up :)

Love it! Can't wait to see it take shape.

Cam--love it, I'll reserve one...maybe. See I keep waffling between this type of setup and an expo slide in (bed) camper with the pop-up roof. Tacoma problems...(not to mention funding issues :D)

    Haha thanks fellas!

Well after I get a little practice when I make this one, making ones for individual needs shouldn't be too difficult!

Glad you like it! It's important (to me) to have a roof rack that doesn't touch the roof.

It'll also have a waterproof canvas hung underneath the rack over the bed to keep everything in the bed dry, and to be used as extra sleeping space. I'll put up more renderings later.

Looks pretty sharp. Very outback expedition. I carry bulky cargo often enough that it wouldn't work for me, but I'd love to someday have a play truck with that kind of setup.

That is what I want to do. I like having my tonneau cover but want a soft topper like eddie was making that is also strong enough to be a rack. I would like the rails to stay mounted and be able to rekove the rack section.

That's exactly what my limo needs. I've heard the bed and cab flex like a mutha, so 2-3" clearance is called for. Your marching orders are to complete yours and build mine before the spring of 2016 when I get back from this next deployment. We're going camping across the US when I come home.

It'll have 3" of clearance at least. I'd be happy to build you one! And could easily get one done before 2016.

I really like his light hoop, so I incorporated that idea into this. Go with what works!

We're in business! I'm not leaving until early 2015, so we can get this thing designed and get you paid before then (material costs, etc).

That light hoop is sick. I'm stuffing 4 Hellas behind my grille, so I might just plexi it like my wifes Thule Baja rack. I know I want to put the spare, shovel, pick-axe, and hi-lift up top. I think fuel, water, and all that other stuff will be in the bed.

Sounds good! I'll be starting a build thread once things get underway.

    you know it!

I was also thinking the other day watching the ranger at the toys for tots meet high centering his truck on the frame, I'm going to make some sliders that hang vertically under the frame, wouldn't go much lower than t-case crossmember, and would provide some rigidity and protection for those high centering situations. Also going to make some skid plates... Stupid to not have them...
