The ARB and Air Zenith are 100% cycle. Not trying to bash the ARB, very sweet all inclusive plug and play set up. But there are better alternatives that you can customize to your needs for a better bang to buck performance ratio.

    150PSI max ARB
    200PSI max Air Zenith

So that will play a part in set ups, especially with tanks. If you wanted to do the math, to see the differences go for it. I'd be curious, ambient temp like 75 degrees at sea level per gallon. I hate math.
    pa Va = pc Vc
pa = atmospheric pressure (14.7 psia, 101.325 kPa)

Va = volume of the gas at atmospheric pressure (cubic feet, cubic meter)

pc = compressed pressure (psi, kPa)

Vc = volume of the gas at compressed pressure (cubic feet, cubic meter)

    No wonder! Apples to Oranges
Viar 480c MAX CFM is only 1.76 @ 0 PSI.

I wish I could find an actual table with ARB's specs. They have the graph which is not detailed enough to get actual specs. Typical deceitful product advertisements straight from the book. "as much as, as low as"

yeah i know. reason i went with the twin arb is just for use with arb locker (feel more comfortable using same company for everything) and to get more air than the viair. still have the air tank hooked up tho.

A quality set of hand tools should always be first priority. I do find situations where air tools would be nice. Especially when I am on my families hunting land. There is no power around and building tree stands and blinds can be a pain in the ass. Some of it can be done ahead of time, some of it cannot. Having the ability to run some tools would be sweet. Obviously air tools are a luxury, but time is precious. I don't want to spend all day ratcheting down bolts.

Same thing with being out on a trail. Occasionally time isn't an issue, other times it is. The more I can accomplish with my setup the more I can justify the price.

Hey all, just wanted to clarify. I currently have an OBA system and going to add my ARB locker to it. All I need is to get an inline regulator set to 90 psi from the tank to the locker, right?

Yep, the ARB lockers come with solenoid valves. Just need to maintain their recommended pressure range for the air lockers.
    • Must supply a minimum of 85PSI [586kPa].
    • The supply must never exceed 105PSI [724kPa].
    • The Air source should have a tank capacity that enables it to
actuate the Air Locker(s) in one charge so that no hesitation
is experienced when locking one or two differentials.
    IMPORTANT :
ARB cannot warrant your Air Locker(s) against damage caused
as a result of using an alternate air supply. If you have any
doubts as to the suitability of your air system to use in an Air
Locker system, consult your ARB distributor.

In defense of the VIAIR systems. They were designed to be a non failing point of most of these baggers systems. Reliable, Heavy duty, over built compressors in a small form factor, able to fit most applications.

Are you referencing the ARB or VIAIR systems in this quote?

Reason I like it is because it's 100% duty cycle and nice CFM. And its a fraction of the price of an ARB.
