It means the 2nd Gen Tacoma have way too much on them that can go wrong. 1st Gen's are so much easier....everything is so straight forward. No beeping & flashing lights for every little thing. Bah

Sorry, I know my reply didn't help you with your question. I just felt the need to rant. Mine did the same thing the other day, it blinked andthen stayed solid. Check your spare tire pressure. Read the above posts & replies to my questions....hopefully that may sort out your problem. If it fixes mine, I'll certainly chime in and let ya know. =0)

I think it is a communication problem between the TPMS module and one or more of the sensors. You probably need to get it checked out with the Toyota Information System software/laptop at the dealership. I know a lot of people have purchased the kit through Amazon and it allows you to read/clear DTCs (diagnostic trouble codes) and change some settings (like door chimes) but what settings are available is vehicle dependent.

    ...too much shit to list.
How many times does it blink?
I attached the relevant section of the FSM. There's a reference chart mid way through to help troubleshoot the problem depending on exactly what the malfunction light is doing.
