So I'm not sure what I want to do, I got pulled out by my bumper and it bent the plate mounts, I'd like to keep it bolt on however that spot is damn near impossible to weld a new plate. Anyone see custom bolt on mounts that they could share?

I used a 4"x4" piece of plate like above, but I beefed mine up by taking a holesaw through the end of the frame, (through the 4x4 plate) then driving in a chunk of 1.75" DOM. I used a sledgehammer to drive the DOM down the inside of the frame rail. You can get about five feet in each side. Then go along the frame and weld the DOM anywhere you can see it. Also welded a piece of 4" angle iron between the frame rails. It ain't gonna bend anymore. Well, not there anyway lol.

That's a damn good idea! I think I'm going to steal it. How far back in the engine bay till you can see the tubing?

So the tube is through your mounting plate and welded around it? Any pictures of the process?

If you look there are those oval shaped tie down holes in the frame all over. Offset the hole so it rides the outermost part of the frame. There is one about 8" back just behind the radiator and bunch more along the way. 8 lb sledge. Hit it like it owes you money.

I didn't get pics of it, and my bumper is welded on. If I hit an elk or something I'll cut it off with a sawzall and get pics for you lol.

Haha gotcha, so you made the hole in the end of the frame? You didn't use the existing hole?

That tundra does look good tho man nice work, but the Tacoma frame doesn't come out like that, the front body mount is right behind it so it's hard to get a good weld behind it

No, I cut the end of the frame off with a sawzall, then welded the plate on, then ran the hole saw through it. You could use the existing hole though.

In other news, I want to convert my TC UCA's to heim. Does anyone know what Bung to use? I'm assuming they are 1.25X .120 but they could be 1/4" wall?

Just wondering why you want to run Heims instead? (alignment reasons??) There is a reason TC chose that way
