Disclaimer: I'm 40, a bit wider than I was 8 years ago and spoiled. I'm mobile, healthy, active and not a sloth. I love Toyotas.

My love for the Toyotas started with a '03 4-Runner. I peaked with an '08 FJC and an '84 FJ60. After that I had a Suburban...meh....

I'm at 30K miles on my 2013 Taco TRD Sport and my hips started to immobilized me. I drove for 4-6 hours on Thursday last week and could hardly walk Friday. I've taken this little truck to St. Louis, Nashville TN, and Chicago in the past 9 months and never had trouble. I figured something is wrong with ME so I didn't worry.

All last weekend though, I decided to experiment. I only drove our Landcruiser or my wifes car and stayed out of the Taco. I felt "decent" by Sunday and was able to walk up the stairs normally for the first time in a week. Monday I drove the Taco. Yep...pain. Lots of it. Today I drove it again, after stretching, exercising, drinking and medicating...not necessarily in order the night before. More pain. The seat is not working out after 30K miles.

I'm going to trade her in. Suburban again...blech. I'm really sorry about this little truck. I loved the two 4-runners, FJC, Landcruisers that we've owned but the seat in this thing is killing me.

There will be a DANG new ARE Z-series cap for sale in Indy soon.

Funny. I think my TRD seats are some of the more comfortable seats I've ever had. Even more so than my wife's Acura.

Are you sitting too close to the wheel? I know if I sit too close for an extended period I have a tendency to let my knees fall to the sides and that tweaks my hips, which in turn effs my back. I noticed it when going to long drives with my son in his old seat behind me. Once it flared up It didn't go away for until I permanently changed my seat position. A new much smaller profile child seat for him fixed it for me.

I put MASSIVE seat time in the FJC, Utah and back to Indy a few times. I never had trouble. Same with the 4-runners. I'm surprised.

Moon, Sweet pic. I like that color.

I'm as far back as I can be and still reach the pedals. 6'0" on a good day, 32" inseam. I'd love to keep this truck if there's a solution.

When I check my left side for traffic, I see pillar and I'm not laid out in the seat. I really liked the adjustablility of the FJC and 4-Runner seat.

Hmm, well the Tacoma is known for an odd seating position. I believe we're much closer to the floor of the truck vs. other trucks or SUV's. Better ground clearance vs. making the truck much taller overall.

You just are whining over nothing! The seats are fine if they cause you that much discomfort then get off here and go get something else.

I wonder if there is a difference in seats between the trd package and SR5? I sold a Nissan truck which I drove for 13 years prior to getting the Tacoma. The taco, is way more comfortable. I have not taken it on a long ride yet and am anxious to do so. We also have a Camry (fairly decent ride) and wife drives a Lexus 450H (totally comfortable but you pay for it!). I try to remember that this is a working truck, and I personally do not expect the ride to be as nice as a car.

There is, the TRD seats are longer in the ass and have extended hip pads. IIRC.
