33 years, 1 account.

 

Individual account for each plus a joint account. I pay all the bills, she buys the food and other stuff like that.

I have little tolerance for anyone questioning how I spend my money and I don't question how she spends hers. Major non cash purchases are discussed. Cash purchases are fair game.

No you have that all wrong.............. well part wrong. What is hers is hers and what is yours is hers. So in reality everything is one.......... HERS!

2. To be fair, we both suffered from "look, there's money in the bank, of course we can have dinner out". It wasn't a lack of self-discipline per se, more a lack of a plan. Now, extracting money every week for various funds is the plan and it makes certain there's no money left for $10 coupons for her and none for impulse tool buying at Home Depot for me.
3. Yup. Been with ING for a long time. Great service. Loved it too when the interest rates actually paid something...now...not so much.

This has been one of the best tools for us. We got out of debt before we married and it has allowed us too pretty much do anything we want. We have a joint account, she buys $50 shoes and I buy a $1000 suspension. Seems fair to me.

We each have our own account that our paychecks get deposited into, then we transfer enough money into a joint account to pay the bills out of.

 

You are a stubborn one aren't you. In all your infinite wisdom why can't you understand what works for each couple is their decision. Just because you don't join accounts doesn't make you an uncommitted piece of shit.....

Joint account for the main stuff (bills) that most of my check and almost all of hers go into. That's where the checks get written from.

I have a separate acct that a small part of my check goes into with my debit card. That's my play money.

 

Pretty sure I'll have to reserve this for the future. Your parents must be so proud.
