Geothermal drilling isn't cheap , you could do a wood fired boiler , or a gas fired boiler or an air to water hydronic heat pump

$4-5K is cheap for a heating system , have you added up how much it will cost to run ducting , wood furnace , chimney , wiring and zoning ?

If I buy the unit I gave you the link to...I could have the whole heating and air system for 4000-5000 geo thermal is about 20,000-25000(with tax rebate from state and federal gov) cheaper but you still need to put a lot down. Outdoor if I do it by the book..looking at 8000-10,000. So that's my predicament.

Btw my entire roof will be 8000 to 10,000 lumber and all. So a little here a little there gets me the house I really want ...and I can always remodel stuff that annoys me.

Without knowing the size of your house it's hard to judge whether these prices are good or bad

2200 sq ft living space....seems small but there is a two car garage off of it and two car garage under it(I have a three car garage here and I filled it) so I actually need the space.

Ok , I'm still suprised that you think you will be able to do all of the heating system for $4-$5K but good luck

What's the total budget for the house. ?
