BTW, after they've all been cleaned and removed from the tubes, I was thinking of getting all the parts cryo treated. Think it'll make enough of a difference?

Do as you wish Jon, but its been my experience that 99% of the time they don't need replacement, just pull 'em at the yard rutbe to length and run them. Both my shafts are that way now. And with how (relatively) cheap the shafts are at the yards, when one does go, swap in a new one or rebuild it then. Especially on the slip yoke portions, just slide on a new one.

As for the DC joints. For the effort it takes to do those, I am waiting until they go out.

You still coming down on Friday?

Its basically a cheap cold air intake. Search Deck plate mod.

The adaptor makes it easy to thread a plug or cap into to use the stock intake location when off-roading etc.

Colorado would probably be ranked top 7 if it weren't for you.

Are you using endure joints for steering components too?

I'm running 7/8s RuffStuff heims for steering and upper links.

That's the same thing I did. It just looked like a lot of rod ends and I didn't know how many you had before.

I think I'm getting the hang of this u-joint disassembly. Not.

I noticed the older driveshafts (pre '01-'04) are considerably different than mine.

The older yokes appear beefier, bearing cups are clipped from the inside while the '01-'04 has snap rings on the outside, the cv center yoke has two large holes (not sure why and you can see it in the pic), and the zerks are much easier to access.

Any idea as to if one is better than the other?:confused:

Older ones are harder to change i think. And suppoedly there is not real replacement U joints..they are all just a bit under sized or something weird..but idk..ive had my aftermarket U joint for over a year now..

I have nothing substantial to offer.

I'm just here for pics of Jon's greasy shaft.

Internal snap ring Double Cardans are stronger and more desired than the external snap ring ones.
