I'm not assuming every accuser of assault by an athlete is lying but when you have major holes in your story it's not gonna bode well for you.

The votes are already in, so if he won, this conference will not change that. And the NCAA does not award the Heisman trophy. It is award by the downtown athletic club, with votes coming from former winners, writers, etc.

I am guessing it is just to tell her side of the story which was already documented in released police files. I dunno why she would have a press release to announce civil suits against either: Winston, Tally PD, FSU PD or anyone else. Looks just like an attention grab to me.

 

If you were raped and received the treatment she got from the media, fanboys online, and the police department, would you let this thing go so easily?

DO you have proof she was raped? The DA didnt. You can spin doctor it however you please, the facts at this point are: Not enough evidence was present to proceed with a case. DOes that mean he is innocent? No, but it doesn mean he is guilty either. Unless so new discovery of evidence comes about i dunno why this is an issue. Both parties gave statements to police which were unsealed to the public. If she had new information about that case why wasnt it included with the original? THe press conference will be just about attention.

 

Never said I have proof about her being raped or even included the assumption that she was raped in my question. I was just asking what you would do, if you were raped, and then received the backlash that she got online, in the media, and had your case handled by the goofs over in Tallahassee.

 

I dont play the theoretical game, sorry. And the media from what i saw has been on her side or accusing Jameis Winston. Unless it is new disvocery of evidence it will be nothing more than a mere attention grab. Im ready to move onto football and not have to hear about something that at this point will have no impact upon the season.

Yes that as well. The media seems to forget that people screen capped all of her stuff before she decided to pursue legal action. Fortunatly/Unforunatly something else will come along and steal the thunder, nobody hears or talked about the Manziel deal anymore. Not saying he was guilty, just that something bigger will take the spotlight soon such as Saban's decision or something else.

 

Semantics for this conversation. Regardless who awards the Heisman, they're going to be publicly blasted for awarding it to Winston and it's going to be a black eye for the NCAA.

So you've contradicted yourself here. First the DA didn't have proof. Then there wasn't enough proof. Two very different things here. The DA stated that the physical evidence that was handed over was insufficient and the statement given by the girl about the alleged rape was contradictory to police statements, her own statements. Kinda makes you wonder considering that she's publicly stated that the police did their best to dissuade her from pressing charges against Winston and now her statement to police somehow contradicts her version of what happened two years later. And she admitted she was wasted. And actual rape is hell on the psyche.

There is a lot of spin and deception going on here, and unfortunately false allegations of rape are common nowadays and greatly enhances the plight of those who actually are raped. You're right, there are a lot of discrepancies and unanswered questions. The only people who truly know what happened are the parties in question. This has now become a PR campaign and if indeed Winston did rape this girl, she's well within her right to fight for justice. If she's lying about this, then I hope she burns in hell.

Incorrect. You stated two very different things. Does it mean the same thing at the very end? Possibly depending on how this plays out. But one statement indicates there is some evidence whereas other indicates there is no evidence.

Example:

Police find victim's finger prints in an accused murder's car. <-- insufficient evidence

Police find no evidence of victim being in accused murder's car. <-- no evidence

Is that enough evidence to charge the accused murderer w murder? Not really. But if there is more discovered, those fingerprints become key to proving (or disproving) the case.

 

which is why i am not a lawyer by trade. the point i think of my statement was taken though as evidence by your response to it.
