When I used to camp a lot, I took the grills from my old propane grill and cut them into 6"x6" squares and used them. Easy to pack and easy to clean (as long as they are taken care of).

Ya I would prob spray a bunch of cooking spray on it. And if I use it wile truck camping I would use a pan on the back packing stove and use my weber grill to BBQ with.
    might just do that too...

Hmm, not that I could find on PB, might have been before digital cameras were in fashion lol. I will say the best home made tortillas I have ever had were cooked on an old piece or roofing tin. Their wavy shape helped with the flavor for some reason.

Backpacking a few cheeseburgers ago in Germany. There's a little castle and the Rhein river back there. This was a "short" fifty miler.

My issue with it was this/. being an avid fisherman, as we camped or fished, I would pull it out and cook fish or fowl, whatever we had or hunted. Anything with skin, no matter the oil used, stuck. Just made cleanup a little more time consuming.

Ultimately, I lost the end cap, then a couple of the grate pegs. Eventually, a standing peg or two dissapeared. Then it fell over when we were cooking and we canabilized it. Used the pegs for shish cabob and left it there. Worked fine while i had it and was able to keep up with the pieces.

Love this thread, I'm halfway reading it for the second time. I've finally really started to get a BOB put together, still in the beginning stages though. I may just need to vent, but opinions are welcome. Does anyone else have a wife (or husband) who simply refuses to get on board with their prepping? And I'm not talking about prepping on the level of the tv shows. I'm just talking about having extra food in the house, and making sure we have certain things in place. She won't even entertain the conversation. She just says "if something like that happens I want to die". It drives me nuts. Prepping alone isn't easy, especially when money is tight.

Mine knows rule #1; Logan always eats. She doesn't have to be on board, get a storage unit and do what you do. I'm also lucky enough to be married to a like minded individual.

Nope, hates the walking dead. Doesn't like any scary movies. She basically lives in a fantasy land like the majority of our nation.

You are lucky. Going at it alone is better than not doing anything. The only problem is I find myself looking for things that only I need, not a family of 4. The whole idea of bugging out as a family is a task I don't have a solution to.

Take her on some adventures. Start taking her camping and collect gear for that purpose. Do all the work, and let it be her happy time while you cook, clean, keep the kids busy, etc. while she sips on wine coolers. Positive reinforcement. Expand the "camping supplies". Introduce her to other preppers so she can see we aren't a bunch of nutjobs. Make it more of a social event to make it more appealing. That's how the Mormons do it... Those chicks have "canning parties" like no other. It's really just a gab fest.
