Anyone ever been approached by someone wanting to get you involed in one of these? My Wife was recently approached by a guy wanting to get her into selling ( He was going to "Mentor" Her) Mona Vie, which is some sort of drink. My Wife picked up on the scheme pretty quickly. Just wondering if anyone else out there has been approached or done something like that.

Although I have sold many things (starting with seeds when I was young) I've never sold MLM products. I was, however, the VP of a successful MLM company and I know folks that have made millions doing so - most of them by design. Many MLM make most of their money selling air (selling a distributorship for 499 that costs them $12).

If you wife wants to do this, she needs to truly believe in the product - not just what the product represents to her (you know a way to make millions).

Next, she needs to work the networking like a banshee! She can make a lot of money if she does all the right things. The problem for most is that they don't. And that is okay for the chosen few (the guys at the top) because their model is not selling product. They are selling the success and the dream of being wealthy and doing what they call "Do what you want, when you want." If you wife is cut out for this, she is probably cut out for a commissioned sales job for something that people need more than a $4 bottle of product that sells for 10x the value (okay that part was my opinion).

Good luck and I hope you and she are successful at what ever you do in life!:)

I have a friends dad who SWEARS by it...but he is far from as rich as the people on the videos.

LOTS of the folks who get into it maek a little bit of oney and maybe find some decent products...but it seems you have to have a special knack to really get rich off it. It's not a pyramid scheme or anything...so it CAN work....

but like HB said- You have to do EVERYTHING right.

    A few bolts are different.
the freekin kiid I bought my wheels from at the dealer called me about a week after and told me he liked the way I carried myself and was wall spoken. He told me to go check out this site with a video introduction and he would call back in about 15 min when the video was over. I checked it out, big run around saying we represent some of the worlds largest companys, so and so bla bla bla but no detailed info. He called back, asked would I be interested in meeting the rest of his team at this meeting that would be the next night at 8pm. I told him it all sounds a little interesting but I need alot mor info because the video didnt tell me squat besides "we represent big companys". his response is well I dont have the time and I'm not able to tell you anymore details outside of this meeting tomorrow. I lauged at him a told him to take his pyramid scheme elsewhere. end of conversation.

did some more research online after the phone call and come to find out it was a Quixstar/Amway deal. In this meeting they want you to pay them $200 for this package of sales info and then go recruit more people.....WHAT A FV<KING JOKE!!!

Like I said, they focus on selling 'the dream.' But in the case of Dark Knight, he does carry himself well - his truck does a better job at it, especially if he's tired, but he carries himself well! ;)

LOL!!! See....My Wife has a Property investment company, and this guy said he was interested in "Working with her", so that they may be able to "Help each other". Being as the economy has taken a crap, this sounded legit, and my Wife went to meet the guy. I went along as well, being as I was board. ANyway...The guy chit chats with us a bit, mentions that the economy is down, and property investing is not a hot comodity. Then he begins telling my Wife that what she is doing is fine "If you're happy just getting by". At which point he asked her "How would your life change if you made a million bucks in 6 months?". At that point, my head rolled back, eyes rolled back, and I said "gggaaaahhhhhh". The dude ignored my antics, and continued on with his blabber. He began reading from some list, and I said "Ok, then.....We'll give ya a call", and We left. Being as he BS'ed my Wife into getting a "Meeting" with her, I was pissed, and wanted to choke the guy for a second. Or poke him in the eye.....something. In any case, Im wondering how many people these folks attempt to recruit, and how they go about it.

With regards to MLM people - I do know guys that made millions but they focused on selling the dream to a minimum of 12 people at a time and the system was somewhat designed to favor him.

I had a dude about my age come up to me in the super market- I'm pretty clean cut/in decent shape and I have a type A personality so I project fairly confident.

He straight walked up to me and said the same "You look like you are a pretty quick guy and carry yourself pretty well- How would you like to make an extra few thousand dollars next month- and every month after that." I went to his meeting and then started laughing on my way out...He called once more...No dice.

See....The only people who have "made millions" are people who have started their own company with a strong foundation and reinvested propperly.

 I'm sorry, I meant people in the MLM companies. Regardless, whether they own their own company, etc, I personally think the key is realizing that we are all in control of the choices we make and how they affect our future.

Yeah......Monavie, was invited to listen to some guy speak this past Saturday. 5 minutes talking about the Acai berry and an hour and a half talking about marketing and don't I want to only work 4 hrs. a week. I asked if this stuff is so good and it does what you say........"how come I'm only hearing about it now?" (Him) UuuuHHHHH.....it's only been around for 3 years. The sneakiness of it all sends up all the red flags I need to know to stay away.

By the way, we were told that the stuff in the "red bottle" was proven to lower or maintain a healthy cholesterol level. My wife is a surgeon and the first thing that she said to me when we got back in the truck was that if I came up with something that could actually do that, she could retire and our kids would never have to work, EVER!!!
