isnt making it in certain states legal? in small amounts?
anyways, moonshine is awesome. but i hate drinking it at the same time. lol

 

its only illegal if you get caught....and then, they can make it a fellony

 

Whatyou will need: makes just over 2 gallons (divide by whatever to cutit down)
Grain Alchol (everclear,ect) Amount is highlydependent on strength. I usually just add to taste. (60% of aeverclear bottle)( about 65% of a 750ML vodka bottle)
1 gallonapple juice (Motts unfiltered makes it look more homemade and tastesbetter I was not a huge fan of the regular clear apple juice justwasnt the same.)
1 gallon apple cider
6-8 cinnamon sticks
2cups brown sugar I have been using a bit less.
1 cups canesugar

Mix everything together in a pot WITHOUT thealcohol and bring to a boil. When the cinnamon sticks start to openup remove from heat. I think its about 15mins or maybe a bit less. Ihave cooked it for to long sometimes ( the longer you cook it thespicier it will get). Now Cool it I just leave it on the stovetop.Once cooled remove cinnamon sticks, add the Alcohol, stir, and pourinto jars.




I like using thesegreen wine bottles I got at christmas tree shop with a rubber gasketand wire bail latch. I think they look classy...




I thought Findingeverclear in MA was impossible. So initially I used store brand100proof grain vodka. Turns out Ever Clear is available at the localCoast guard exchange.

Keep Away fromminors or your gunna have a bad time... It does not taste a tenth asstrong as it is. I did the calculations online and some of thebatches were close to 30 Proof

This is just how I do it... If you don't add alcohol its a delicious hot cider idea.

That's because it used filtered apple juice. The pulp really brings more apple and less sugar flavor.

 

always wanted to try that but seems like it would be too sweet. maybe mix some whiskey into it to solve that problem?

 

Thanks for posting that recipe, like I said in the Christmas thread, I only have about two sips left. On the legalities of it, if you aren't selling it, is it still illegal to make?

 

Scince you mixing store bought products its legal. Its just a fancy mixed drinks. If you try to sell it that's illegal.

 

Right, I meant more like actual moonshine.

 

My dad made the apple pie stuff the other day, has a really strong cinnamon taste, it would be better with less cinnamon, taste like mellowed out fireball whiskey.

 

The real stuff comes from Virginia

Also dont buy the georgia moon brand, Ive had good homemade shine and that stuff tasted horrible.
