Man painting this bed is kicking my ass. Anyone got any tips on brush painting wood

 

don’t use one of those POS foam ones. use a long bristled brush.


if you using a roller, use one of the “think” ones not the fines ones, it helps get in the grain better or in all those crevasses on the POS OSB.

and try not to get to much on the brush at one, or it will want to run. also may have to go over it a few times. should have used MDF instead of OSB. more money but better stuff.

and OMG MY OCD....... the edges are all FU**ED up. need to take a dremel and clean all that up.

And that cup holder was useless anyway. Lol these can't be the light switches cause they are wireless right? The $1000 lights

 

lol. maybe not OCD. but when i do stuff like that i want it as clean and perfect as i can. all ways cut the hole a little smaller than i need and clean up all the edges back to where i need them to be.


it’s great for cans! just don’t let a dip can fall down in it, it’s kinda a PITA to get out.... don’t ask me how i know....

 

Finally got the new wheel bearing put in. That fixed the gritty noise when I spin the wheel by hand. But the noise like aggressive tire noise is still there once I get over 30mph. Still a slight vibration through floor around 63mph.

Doing the Nascar warmup / tire clean thing:
Swerving left doesn't change the sound.
Swerving right makes it go away completely.

So I still think it's something suspension or steering, not drivetrain.

*New bearing/hub on front passenger side.
*Rotated tires. No change in sound.
*Checked torque on leaf springs, shocks, struts, and lower control arms. All good.
*Pried on passenger lower ball joint and didn't see any play. But both lower ball joints do have grease built up around edge of boot.


Steering might feel a bit twitchy/loose but after driving the Highlander for 2 weeks, maybe I just forgot what the truck felt like.


Any ideas?
Could it be as simple as maybe it got knocked out of alignment and a tire is making contact to the road at an odd angle?

 

Any kind of abnormal tire wear? Cupping, feathering, etc? A lot of times tire noise is caused by cupping.
