Hi all. Found this site through Google searches for lower control arm bushing removal and replacement. There were some really great write ups here, figured I would join. I'm new to Tacomas but love mine so far. Hope to learn a lot from here.

    Welcome bud,

It would be unusual to have seized bushings on an 11 but it's possible. Might have to take a sawzall to them.

I thought that too. The truck has 5100's up front and an AAL in the rear. The stock tires were worn enough to justify replacing so I ordered Duratracs and LR UCA's. Got everything installed, took it to get it aligned and the tech said that the passenger lower front eccentric was seized in the bushing.

I thought that I could break it free... the bolt came out easy, no rust. The eccentric tube was indeed rust welded to the bushing. I soaked it overnight with PB blaster and put a big crescent wrench on the tube. Big mistake! I destroyed it.

Out came the saw and I cut it out. That's when I found you guys here! I ordered the eccentric's from Toyota, (I didn't know that there were after market eccentrics available yet) but I refused to pay $70 for the Toyota bushing.

I ordered the Moog bushing for 1/3 the price... Well Moog has the part numbers for the lower front and lower rear swapped. So I learned that if you need a front bushing get the K200772 not the K200773 as their site states.

I got it all back together last night, I'm scheduled to get it aligned again on Friday.

    Thanks for the welcome guys!

    Count,

Welcome to TW. I hope the alignment goes well on Friday. Sounds like you have the front bushing problem in hand.

I grew up in Dutchess County, but moved West. I know what the winters are like.

    Again welcome.

Welcome to the best place to get you to spend money on stuff you never even knew you wanted upgraded! All joking aside, In the short time I've been a member I have fixed a few things on my truck that I didn't think were possible, but this great site has tons of useful information.

This looks like a good place to trade info. I'm going to buy some bed racks to carry my kayak. Still deciding which ones?
