I just sold a truck and have about 30 days to buy another vehicle or I will lose several thousand in sales tax on the 1st purchase.

I realize that I'm on a Tacoma forum and most are thrilled with their purchase. However I've read review about the 2nd Gen quality, uncomfortable seats, and poor handleling.

I have yet to go drive a 2014, but have bought new a 1994, 1998, 2001 Tacoma, and 2001 Tundra. All 4x4s, and I'm still driving the 01 Tundra.

I'm looking for honest opinions on your purchases.

    Thanks.

Your not going to get honest opinions here for the most part sorry. This is a Tacoma forum not a truck forum. I would say to go drive one, sit in it for a while and see what you think for yourself.

I can't imagine buying or not buying a vehicle because of reviews. People don't go out of their way to post reviews saying they're happy.

But no, no buyer remorse for me. Small things I don't like .. sure, but I would buy again.

I wish now that I would have bought a extra cab 4x4, but I was in high school when I bought my single can prerunner and it was all I cpuld afford without getting a high mile or much older truck. Still happy with what I got and it paid for so I dont want to trade it in and have another payment.

I regretted geting a 2wd the first time. My second tacoma is a 4x4 and I couldnt be happier. I like the sport seats a lot. They come owith both trd packages.

I have driven an SR5 and a TRD from N.Y. to Florida and back several times. They are not uncomfortable, just remember, they aren't cars or SUV's. As for handling, keep it somewhere near the speed limit and it will be glued to the road. No remorse what so ever.

The only things I could think of you might regret are not enough power and not enough size, so go with 6 cylinders and 4 doors and 4 wheel drive. Anything else only you'll be able to answer for yourself, go for a long test drive and kick the tires a bit to decide. I haven't had any issues at all with my 09.

I had buyer's remorse a couple of months after I bought my first Taco ... an Access Cab. It just didn't have enough room for my wife and son. I corrected my mistake and bought a new '13 DCSB TRD Sport 4x4 last year and couldn't be happier with it. You should definitely go drive a Taco and the competitors and take it from there. That's how I started my search and it quickly led me back to the Tacoma.

No buyer's remorse. I came from a Silverado 4x4 extended cab and wanted something a little smaller that would still tow and haul anything I needed to. I bought a new double cab short bed and it's met my needs so far. I put some money and time into it to actually make it do what it should have been able to do off the lot but, 6 years later, it's water under the bridge at this point. It hasn't impressed me enough to make me automatically want to buy another (I'd still consider another Tacoma) but I certainly don't regret buying it either. My only regret is not purchasing the extended warranty so I could have made Toyota fix all the little stupid stuff that's either broken or stopped working along the way.

I regret not getting the TRD Offroad package with mine, but I needed a truck THEN (I'd been about a month without one and projects were piling up) and no TRD's were popping up used in the condition I wanted for the price I was willing to pay, so I had to 'settle' for the SR5.
Other than that, no, I don't have any buyer's remorse.
Although, I took this truck through some pretty serious terrain during hunting season this year and it didn't even blink. So given how capable my SR5 has been so far, I guess I only miss the TRD package for the POTENTIAL that it had for offroad performance, haha.

Based on what I've read, I will be getting the TRD Sport for the scoop and seats. I think there are a few TRD Sport packages though. I will have to research them more to see what the differences are.

Once you decide on the TRD Sport the only Toyota offered packages would be the body style.

I love my 13 AC TRD OR. I regret nothing about it except that I didn't have the money to purchase outright. I'll own it in 5 years.

If you want to buy a pickup truck, but don't want to buy a full size truck or spend $40k, then you will have nothing to regret if you purchase a Tacoma, so long as the model you pick fits your needs (access cab/double cab, auto/manual, 2wd/4wd).

Deffinitely will go with 4x4 auto, TRD sport, and either grey or white. Probably will get double cab short bed. Will consider access cab.
