I have this SS kit on order. Core said that they are waiting on parts and that it should ship by the end of the week (which is tomorrow). I'll post a quick review once I get it installed.

Here's some pics from the install:

    Installed Core/Hurst assembly

    Hurst "stick" installed

I like how the new shifter feels now. It's a lot better from 1st to 2nd gear. The shifter seems a little taller than stock but has a shorter throw between gears. There's an increase in transmission noise but I can deal with that. The truck feels more like a truck now and less like a car. The shifter has a way more solid feel to it. There's absolutely no play in the shifter anymore and stays completely centered while not in gear. It's not that different getting into reverse either.

The only gripe I have is that the boot and console was a bitch to get back on over the Hurst stick. I think it's that the new stick is now angled a little closer to the dash. It was hard getting the boot over the stick and getting the console to slide back into position. I made a tiny ding next to my USB port trying to bend and slide the console back into place.

I am definitely happy with this instead of the stock shifter.

My advice put the sifter in 2-4-6 gear positions to put on console. Makes it easier. My only gripe i have with this shifter is the bolts loosening off at the handle and the base. Next time im using some lt red lol

Thanks for the update and pics. When it is in 1/3/5th gear is it any closer to the console than the stock shifter? I really like the look, nice job.

It is a little closer. The stick portion closer to the boot is closer than stock, then it bends back and toward the driver.

I used some blue treadlock for all the mounting bolts. I hope that holds up because I don't want to take it apart again lol.

did we figure out if they are taller than stock? how about versus the TRD kit?

looking at switching things up from the URD kit and now there's options besides the TRD kit which is nice..

So I installed mine today. Was easy enough however getting the stock leather boot and console back over the shifter was a monumental pain in the ass. Other than that I love it.

Oh sweet. That looks great. I haven't pulled the trigger on mine. The only reason I never got around to it is I want to use other shift knobs, and Hurst is stuck in their ways using whatever thread pitch is it they use.

I considered buying a shorter shift arm, then adding a TWM shift extender with the bottom that matches the Hurst's thread and the top, cut and rethreaded to M12 x 1.25. just haven't gotten around to it. If I were to do that, I'd cover the shorter Hurst section with boot and only show the extender part. Otherwise, it would look kinda funny.

It's loud but after a little while I stopped noticing it. You'll hear the tranny whine in 3rd and 5th gear more and in first gear it is the loudest
