Would one of your hid kits work for me if I have spyder headlights? According to the lighting thread they are gen 3 and take H1 bulbs for the highs and lows. What would pricing look like

Yes, they would work. You would order the low beam kit in H1. Looking at $104.95 for the slim 35w ballast kit. You can order the same kit for the high beams if you want to do those as well.

Sweet! Do you know if anyone has installed your hids in the spyders'? And could you post a picture of the plug and play harness. Thanks

I have HIDs on my polaris RZR and when i turn them on it takes a few seconds for them to warm up and get really bright....So my question is does a Bixenon do this when going from low to high...

Nope this is not the case with the bixenon since it's one bulb. It changes the angle of the beam pattern on high.

I've heard a good amount of talk about glares and the stock housing not being good for hids causing it to throw light all over..what's the Verdict on that? Can stock housings be used without problems or do you need to buy projectors?

I believe he has a bulb with a shield (I may be wrong) to reduce that. General verdict is not to use them in stock Halogen reflectors.

Sandman is correct they have shields to help reduce glare. The light pattern will be close to the same as your halogens but brighter. If you want to achieve the cut off beam pattern you'll need to retrofit or buy projector housings. To answer your question you can use HID's in your stock housings with no problems with correct headlight alignment if that changes at all during install.

Seems that the second line under the "buyer" section needs to be re read.

Anyhow.....Bump for the Anorexic Ursa (slim cubbers).

No I am not running hids, I do not have anything to do with slims company, and nothing to gain. I have run drop in hids in my fogs before, seen drop in hid headlights, have had/made projector retrofits long before they were popular or even well known about here, and would be happy to help with any answers via PM.

Glare/kelvin/legality topics have more than likely been covered in the lighting section, just in case slim misses a post, u can always check here.....

Fair enough; not interested in bashing the OP - (posts deleted) and as you noted there is plenty of info folks can look up on HID vs Halogen bulbs in stock reflectors.

My biggest concern with cheap hids is that they will turn on only one and you have to turn them on and off to get them both on. This is very annoying and I don't want to have to worry about one of them not coming on. With this kit will it have the same problems and if not why? What causes this problem and what does this kit do to prevent them. I don't mind spending the money on this kit if it's going to not act up. 6 years ago I spent 500 on a kit so to me I'm happy with the prices for a good kit.

I had this issue one cold winter. I have not changed the bulbs or ballasts and this has not happened since even in multiple cold winters (sub-freezing). I am not sure why this happens to people. I stand by that Slims kits are quality kits.

We are one order away from raffling off a free kit! Once we reach 10 or more orders I will raffle off a free low beam kit! If we reach 20 orders or more I'll raffle off 2 kits! This is the first time I've raffled off a free kit during a group buy. I think it's a great idea! What do you guys think?
