So does regearing help with MPG or does it just make milage more accurate?

    Odds and Ends

I may be mistaken but I believe with an Auto the regearing wont change the calibration, with a manual I think it does. Someone corerect me if I' wrong.
You will pick up lost power and may gain MPG when regearing. When I went to 4.56 with 33's I lost a little MPG but gained a little back with 35's. 35's are a better match for that gear ratio power/econ wise and the 35's I went to are a few pounds lighter than the 33 I had.
I would think you will see a gain in power and MPG since your motor is really laboring now with stock gears and 35's. It will also help the tranny not work so hard and forever be in search for the right gear.

You will have to re-calibrate the speedo. I am using the Hypertech Inline Calibrater. SPent about 30 minutes installing and another 30 minutes or so messing with the settings to get my speedometer dead on.

You will get better MPG. Also with the right gears you would think it was stock again. Also you will be able to cruise more comfortably on the highway if you think it seems underpowered.

I went from 3.55s to 4.56s. I gained 2 mpg and low range offroad it crawls along so much better than before (I have a manual). Im a bit over geared I would be dead on if I had 35's instead of 33's

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
Got my spidertrax spacers in...ordered 4. Just the front would look odd IMHO so I will see how this goes...only thing left is to cut and get some 35s.

you'll have to remove me from the OP list in a few months. I'll be installing a 1" BL with Anthony - It is more for the drivetrain modifications, clocking the t-case.

I am rubbing on my frame at full lock and my UCA's rub just a smidgen too with slight up travel. I am going to get a set of 1.25" wheel spacers to solve this problem.

Obviously, it depends on your rim, but just remember the further out you go the more clearance you will need for the cab mount and firewall.

Seems like everyone rubs in different places. My rims have 4.3 BS and I clear the cab mount and UCAs but rub frame a bit at full lock. Will need to hammer in passenger side pinch weld a little more as I rub slightly when stuffed
