I've never used it in over four years and I'm not about to start now. Even if it was free I'd probably not use it. :p So yeah, I'll rip mine out for a fair price. :D

    Loud as hell URD exhaust!
My 2011 SR5 came with XM and the sound is much better than FM radio. The music sounds clearer and louder with XM so FM is now obsolete. I never believed in paying for radio music but after having it in my Tacoma its totally worth it.

    I understand.

When XM first started back in the early-mid 2000's I had a buddy of mine get it. I swore that I would never pay for something that I already get for free. He showed it too me and it took me all of about 1 min. to figure out that I couldn't live without it lol.
I will say this, I only activate it when they send me the 6 months for $25 dollars. Less than $5 per month is just fine with me and makes trips great since you never run out of the station. The key to XM is to call and "attempt" to cancel your subscription and they will continue to offer discounts just to keep you. I've been doing this for years and have never payed close to full subscription price.

 That's pretty good at less than $5 a month. At that price I'd at least try it. I'm an amateur radio operator and most times that I'm in the truck I'm tuning around the ham bands looking for some action or starting some. Thanks for the info.

Never had xm radio and use to think the same thing "I'll never pay for radio", we'll 2 weeks later and all I listen to is xm.. Lol!

Now I need to hope I can get it for that price of 30$ for six months, 5$ a month doesn't bother me

You can no problem. When your time is almost up just call and say you want to cancel your subscription. They will do everything in their power to keep you as a subscriber. I got 3 free months of XM when I bought my truck and called them and told them that I want to cancel the subscription after the 3 months. They told me they could do 6 months for $25. I told them make it a year and I'll do it. $50.. Won't be charged again until the end of Jan 2015 and I'll call and cancel right before the subscription ends. They will try to keep me from doing it and I'll just tell them that I'll wait until they send me out another mailer requesting me back for a 6 months service for $25 again. They will then and there give me that deal and I'll extend it for another year. Been playing this game with them for years.

XM is worth $4 per month but not the $12-15 they want to charge.

I get mailers all the time for 6 months for $25. When I called to cancel my free three months they gave me that deal. I stretched it out to a year for $50

Shouldn't need them. If you don't get one just tell them you got one. They usually send them out after you were a paying subscriber enticing you to come back. They "may" ask for the number on the mailer but if they do just tell them that you don't have it with you. If they balk just tell them that you will just cancel the service. I promise they will not let you leave. It is easier for a company to keep subscribers than it is to get new ones. In this case you have the upper hand.

That was with me calling to cancel (ends on the 25th). Guess I didn't negotiate enough or reiterate me canceling.

Yeah maybe not. When I forced the issue once they offered to give me 4 months free just to keep me. I told them no because I sold the vehicle that had XM installed in it and the new vehicle didn't have it. They offered to send me a unit to install in the new vehicle (forget the price but it wasn't much). I told them no. I re-subscribed in 2010 when I bought a Honda Accord and have been doing this every since. Funny thing is, I still get mailers for 6 months for $25 even though I have a XM subscription.

It was 57 until they got rid of it 2 months ago. Was seriously going to cancel after that. Now mainly just 59.

I have the fin, with JBL/Nav and the XM in my '13 DC TRD-OR. But, I mostly just use my USB. I think I have 797 songs on the device I'm currently using. If I'm not listening to that, then it's a mix of local radio, iheart & Pandora. I didn't get a sub for XM as my wife has it in her ride, and I seem to spend more time looking for something I like when I'm in it.
