I'm back...wow this discussion board blew up...

The Fitch Fuel Catalyst...um I don't think it works. I actually lost 1 mpg I'm pretty sure...They say to let it sit for 1000 miles to see an effect...I think they are lying big time...we'll see.

Pretty much, every single quarter of my tank I'm pulling off 100 miles...so 4 quarters = 400 miles city...which is actually spot on to what the EPA sticker says...+ a little bit.

Honestly, the weight reduction mainly is felt in turning corners and starting from a dead stop...not so much in MPG...but it all adds up.

Our gas tanks are 21 gallon tanks...so:

    400 miles /21gal. is 19.04 mpg (City)

    450 miles /21gal. is 21.42 mpg

Those are my real time numbers in a 6 cylinder, automatic, 4x4 Tacoma.

Everybody else doesn't believe me, because your trucks are lifted, huge ass tires and heavy rims, driving habits, weight, stereo systems, etc.

It's really not that hard to believe, but if you're an idiot, then anything goes I guess.

I kinda believe ya, just not on board with the additives voltage stabilizer and fuel magnet. Your mpgs arent crazy high over the numbers, you probably take it easy on truck and live in a flat area. Ill even throw out some ideas.

    Aluminum spare
    X runner air dam
    Lower the truck
Bed lid or tonnue cover, or the hypermiler camper top things
Premium gas(not sure if itll help)
    Wax the truck
    Stubby antenna
Maybe get nitrogen in the tires
    Moon hubcaps
If you have a hitch take it off
Make sure the u joints are greased
take out the carpet if you deal without it
If you dont use the back seats except for junk space, take out the seat, seats and carpet are both normally pretty heavy (im being serious)
Get on a serious drag racing sites they will have weight loss checklists

So your saying when you fill up your tank it is completely empty. I find that hard to believe. Give us the mileage and the amount you put in to top it off. Then we can see. I would live to see the video also. I have a 4x4 off road double cab short bed auto and get 20.5mpg with all interstate driving stock tires.

Yeah it is not going to happen, there is now way he dropped 1000 rpm from cruising speed at 70. The engine is not strong enough to accomplish this it would bog and want to switch gears.

His mods are nothing new and do very little to nothing.

Also you do not need to pull the heads to index the plugs. You mark the plug to show where the electrode is in the install. You add a shim at the correct thickness to get the electrode to orientate to the correct position.

He does not even have a fuelly or calculate out his mpg based on gas used. Just a rough guess by the needle. No scan gauge or other knock off setup. He has AT tires but is keeping them until they are worn out but replaced his synthetic oil like its water.

    Troll

He just special ordered the MPG package that we forgot to get.

A slight lift will not drop MPG either. He has no real weight saving mods.

Went on the freeway last night and I will admit, I was off by quite a bit. My RPMs are set at about 1900 at 70mph...so my apologies for the over emphasis. Still, it's better than when I first bought it. My RPMs were pushing 3,000 to go 70mph.

On the note of O2 sensors, yes per your Toyota Tacoma manual they are supposed to be changed every 60-100k miles from what I recall reading. This is partly because they want your money at the stealership.

Here is what I personally believe...if a gas saving mod says it will provide 3 extra mpgs...that shit is only providing .5 - 1 extra mpg. Random fact: the Blue Genie Tacoma drove within 1/2 mile of the Paul Walker accident when the car was burning. Had no idea...I'm an EMT, so I would've stopped to help. Damn psychic abilities were never my gift. Again...I'm sure I'll get some shit about me lying about that too. I for the first time stopped by to see the crash scene. People etched his name into the sidewalk, but there was no mention of Roger Rodas I could see. Is be pissed if I were from the Rodas family. Sad...he was too a person.

Back on topic: I just put the Fitch Fuel catalyst in last week, and I think it actually hurt me by 20 miles per tank...or so. I'm going to keep it in for 1000 miles and report back. Eh...

Stock 70mph rpms is about 2050-2150 depending on near stock tire size for auto.

Keep spewing nonsense. You left it in 4th I guess for your 3K theory.

You state stereo systems are bad for mpg but then list that you have subs in your sig.

    Ya Ya Ya

Moving on, nice show and tell of nothing but BS

So hows that electric hybrid conversion going Mr. Tesla????

I installed a switch to turn the amp off when I just want to listen to radio. Any extra strain on alternator worsens gas mileage. I also installed hid lights to help.

Well, my cousin works on movie props (he designed the pupils in the eyes of all dinosaurs in Jurassic Park 1 & 2). I'm getting his help on it. I wanted to attach a rubber belt to go around the drive shaft and to an electric motor, but there was several complications with that model. I'd throw the driveshaft off balance being the biggest. Tapping into the Serpentine pulley system is the least efficient way, but saturn did this with the Vue Hybrid...as did Buick. I'd be like downshifting a manual, only from the front of the engine, making it rev.

I'm trying to go to paramedic school to become a firefighter. Once I become one...I'll lift the crap out of my truck. Id have the money then. For now, my ass is laid off and in school. Not much time for the hybrid thing, but trying hard.

For now, no lift. Prefer the better Mpgs of stock lift.

Well, I don't discount you on the manual...I'm going to check my manual when I get home this weekend. Perhaps I'm seeing things...I will post pictures of my manual if I find anything otherwise than what was listed above. It might have been the 90k service, I'm not sure. I'll post back later, I'm at work right now.

To prove I'm not crazy...I've read online that our 4x4 trucks are supposed to go about 400 miles per tank. Of course this isn't going to happen if you're slamming your foot on the pedal, driving under extreme terrain, or extremely cold or hot weather either. I live in California, so the weather is usually like 80 degress - 100 degrees summer / 50 degrees - 80 degrees winter.

For those who actually believe in me...I appreciate you guys. I promise to follow through with pictures. I actually was suprised that our trucks struggle to get at least 400 miles per tank. With my 2.7L 4 cylinder manual, I was consistently pulling off 500 - 550 miles per tank, give or take, so why is it so difficult to believe that the 6 cylinder 4.0 can't pull off at least 400mi. per tank?

Once again, I swear my life on the Bible itself that I have gotten a few readings of 400 miles per tank (mostly city driving...with a little highway). Not all my tanks go 400 miles though (It is true that it MOSTLY depends on driving habits, but other factors add up too.)

Until I can post some pics, here is something to keep you dudes preoccupied. This company would be something to possibly invest in, because they are one of a kind for electric propulsion. This design could be applied to any vehicle, from a Mercedes E-Class, to a Toyota Tacoma. A combustion engine gets the worst mileage at idle (0 miles per gallon) - low rpms. The in wheel electric motors would increase HP, and decrease gasoline consumption in all applications. They are amazing:

Gas Saving Devices I've tested that DO NOT WORK:

    1. Tornado

    2. Magnets on fuel lines

    3. Hydrogen on Demand

Regarding Hydrogen...the reason why people do not see an increase, is because of physics. Energy is not free, there is no free lunch. When you apply a hydrogen device on your vehicle...it makes the alternator pulley tighten up (to compensate the extra electrical load), in turn making your engine work harder to run (use more gas).

In other words, you are using gasoline, to make hydrogen. Knowing about electronics, I thought, "What if I introduced a separate battery system just to run the hydrogen generator?" I did this on my test vehicle, and messed the engine up. I didn't know about Pre-Ignition misfire back in the day, but basically, the setup I just described does work, but needs to be completely tuned by a professional to see the benefits without damage to your engine.

Subbed for when the arbitrary stats (1 mpg here, 1 mpg there, some arbitrary percent saved here) get backed up with facts.
