Yes that too. It's like when I scratch him good enough he has to do something with his mouth. Either nibbles his paw, or licks my arm.

I've been considering a pit. (Yes, Jamie, a German too.) Anyway, can you tell me about them? I'm mainly wondering how well they do with kids and other dogs. And do all pits get real big? Like really muscular and wide. I know I can't really control it, but I like seeing the small pit bulls. When their tail and ears aren't docked.

    Thanks!

A lot depends on the pedigree. You need to see previous litters from the same 'rents to know this.

I don't want to tell you no but know your breed well. Lots to consider.

My mutt is part border collie part bluetick coonhound, he is a maniac! Border collies have some quirks, that's for sure.

And to the members talking about different bird dogs and wondering which to get next; Italian spinoni. My neighbor has one and I got to pheasant hunt with him one day, he is an amazing dog. Hunts very slow compared to GSP, methodical like. Great temperament too, great around his small kids and loves to play with my two mutts.

Haha my grandparents had a purebred border collie on their farm....he would run circles around the golf cart, nipping at it trying to herd it like it was one of the cows. He could do it for hours and not get tired.

Just got a 3 year old beagle/bull terrier mix from a shelter last week. Lots of energy and even more personality! Great dog! But, he's a chewer, BIG TIME! Gone through the "tough" toys in minutes and even lost a flimsy bed. Anyone got any suggestions on chew resistent dog beds?

I'll throw up a pic of Toby tonight when I get home!

River Rat- Vizsla? Have a good friend back East that hunts with Vizsla's. Another friend that I hunt with in SD where several of us get together each year hunts Wines. They are very close in many ways, and both are great dogs. And bird hunters.

Got to hunt over a v in 1995 I was sold. Killer 100 ,200 yard dog. on # 5 now & breed every 1 or 2 years.Ill have a V when I die:)..[IMG]
