The old ones seem easier to me. Of course my snap ring pliers could just be a huge POS.

    ...

Good to know. Hoping I can swap out the newer ones so I can run 1 type of joint. I only have one newer one anyway.

Anyhoo... so I'm modifying the driveline position today. It's a bit too high and I had the t-case clocked way more than I needed.

I know the t-case isn't supported in it's original configuration, but does it HAVE to be since I'm running tons and turbo? Crawl box and tranny will still be mounted the same way I've had them.

did you clock the Tcase? so you have to make a custom crossmember anyways..

The crossmember I made held the tranny, crawl box, and tcase altogether but the tcase was clocked too much and I have to cut the back end off so I can lower the 'assembly'.

Mounting/modifying the rest of the drivetrain isn't the issue though. I just don't know if the tcase will hold up the the abuse if it's only mounted/supported by the inchworm clocking adapter.

Yea i wouldn't trust it just hanging off the crawl box..not for what your gonna be doing.

So your lowering that whole assembly? Why do you loose the mount then?

The drivetrain crossmember sits only about a 1/4" above the skid/crossmember it's mounted to. Not much room to drop it. Plus clocking the tcase back down changes the mounting points for it anyway.

I just got off the phone with Inchworm. They said yeah definitely support the tcase.

So maybe do something like the TG doubel T case crossmember/skid. Make mounts for it on the skid.

    That's the ticket.

Soooo today I cut off all the brackets/tabs from the link crossmember. :anonymous:

Front link tabs were both moved 1" farther to the outside
Rear link tabs were brought closer to the middle
Cut off the back section of the tranny crossmember
Tcase is now clocked 15 degrees
Made new tabs for the tranny crossmember mount
Drivetrain is now angled down slightly and the tcase sits a couple inches lower

Dimple Dies are the shiznipple. You gonna tie that sucker in on top of the frame rail too? I would recommend it. Take some 2" wide barstock or so and lay it on the frame and rinnung down onto your panhard bracket for extra piece of mind.

You can see what I did here ( I didn't want to cover up my dimple dies either):

It encapsulates the frame on three side then, super beef, lol.

Also are those weld washers or regular flat washers you're using?

It's tied in on the bottom and basically tied in up top. Can't see it from the pic, but I have a 1/2" wide 1/4" thick piece that's welded to the rest of the bracket that sits above the frame rail.

Those are just regular grade 8 washers. In addition to 2 more of those inside the bracket, there are smaller dia/thicker grade 8 washers on either side of the heim acting somewhat as misalignment spacers. Not that I need much movement for the panhard, but it should work ok.

Edit- Panhard tabs/bracket is 1/4" plate, heim sits on a 3/4" bolt.

    Which part? :anonymous:

A lot of the welds look like shit, even more so because my welding has improved so I basically went back over almost EVERYTHING. Mostly because I was worried the old welds didn't have enough uniformity or penetration.
