More than likely unless you currently volunteer at a fire department there are a lot more people with a leg up that are going to school just like you. So go volunteer and get some experience and maybe they will want you.

I told you all...it's not unheard of...my numbers are not all that great. They are beating the EPA ratings by a little though, and I don't drive like a sissy, so there must be some truth to the gas saving devices.

The mother of all MPG devices...is going to be that hybrid kit though. I'd expect to see 22 city / 25 highway...

shit. my 4 banger with 33s, stock gearing, armor and all loaded down to camp in moab for a week gets 19mpg when i drive down to utah.

my city mileage...is pretty shitty though

 

Before I get fully involved this weekend, here is the final thing I'll say before I begin:

Please remember, I am here to help, not brag. I am here to test theories, and explain the faults of myths. I do not consider myself to be a troll, and would like to gain peoples' attention to the challenge of making a vehicle more efficient. I know it's rediculous to worry about MPG all to much (life's too short), but it is damn fun to see if we can make our trucks more efficient. It's like a game...a balancing act between power and efficiency.

Once again, I am here to report on my findings and demonstrate how things are done. In terms of the Tacoma, I am very well versed in maintenance, parts, and performance items etc. If you have ANY questions about the Tacoma, see if I know it, how to do it, or where to find how to do it.

I have spent about 8 hours a day / 5 days a week studying our trucks for the past 3 years, just waiting to be able to buy mine...

Yea, like I said, it's not that great, but it's more than most people on here. Again, I'm only trying to help.

My new goal is AT LEAST 20mpg city / 25highway...let's see if we can get this done. I didn't stop to do the math last time and thought I was getting 20 city / 24 highway...

 

i think the problem with your reasoning is that you dont run the tank dry to fill it. you are calculating your mpg from when ever you had a full tank to when you top off again right
