Okay I'm caught up now :) Saw the wreck a few pages back, that sucks on such a nice rig! I don't see how the insurance company wouldn't opt to fix the aftermarket parts since it would probably be cheaper than OEM. Anyway hope all goes well.

Thanks guys, just heard back from insurance an they are not covering the accident :(

Going through a divorce right now and one of the agreements was I was to pay his health insurance and he was to continue paying my vehicle insurance. Well I was never notified that he stopped paying the insurance and so I was not covered. When I talked to my insurance the day of the wreck they said if I back paid then it should be covered. So I did. But they just let me know that they are not going to cover it.

Soooo now comes the long journey of figuring out what to do

Wow that sucks! You need to hold your ex accountable for that. You need to bring this to the attention of the court.

Ya looks like I'll being a court room a lot in the next little while.. especially since I'll probably be getting sued by the other parties involved in the accident.

    Two things I recommend:
    1. Go through court and make your ex pay for all related fixes from the accident, both for your truck and the Lexus and any medical bills resulting from this. Being as how it was court agreed that you pay his medical insurance and he pays vehicle insurance, him letting it go is a case for you to have him pay the bills. Make sure any lawyers fees are included from going to court with the person in the Lexus, and just for shits and giggles, see about having him pay any associated court costs and lawyer fees for taking him to court for not covering auto insurance, because you wouldn't be dealing with this at all if he had kept up on his part of the agreement.
    2. Talk to insurance again and demand they refund your money for back coverage. By paying them the back pay, and them agreeing at the time to cover the accident, and now coming back to say they won't is crap. That seems like their way of saying that they will take your money but not pass it back out when it is needed.

Thanks Zach, we are definitely talking to some people we know in the insurance world to see what actions we need to take. Hoping to take the least amount of legal action possible. But unfortunately some will definitely be taken.

In the meantime I'm looking for cost effective ways to get my truck fixed. I have calls put to some of my friends on the body shop world and for someone who can help me fix my bumper. I don't start my new job till January 6th so funds will be low until my first check or two. I had a friend help my bend my bumper so that it doesnt rub anymore but the bumper itself is tweaked and needs to be straightened out and re welded in places.

Straight headache going on here but it will all work out. Just a matter of when and how. Pretty disappointed in the situation but it could be worse..

Jake can probably help out if you ask him. Might require a drive to Bellingham for you though. I would offer to help out a bit more, but I don't have welding equipment or knowledge, and I am kinda busy working nights and trying to get my house cleaned up, and start packing. Wife and I are getting ready to move to Spokane. I do have multiple hammers still easily accessible to help bend things back into place...
