You guys doing surgery in your trucks or something? I can roll a joint just fine with the light output of the stock map and dome lights.

Don't forget he used three periods and then a question mark all together.

Don't forget to being able to see the food when you get the munchies at the corner store.

    Thanks OP
I had 2x of those sly 194 led bulbs sitting.
Never bothered to change out the factory ones lol.
But I had a hard time removing the factory bulb from the map lights.
Now that I changed it to the led ones, which is even shorter, I just hope these led will never go out lol, or else I don't know how to remove them for replacing

New Navigation DVD/CD/TV/AV/Bluetooth Stereo and seat mod spacers, 1" hubcentric spacers, seat heaters....
I did this to my interior three years ago, including the lights in the door, also did the license plate bulbs in LED too, spent no where near $38, it was less than $20...even though I cheaped out on the bulbs (waited and got them directly from China), they have not failed in three years and put out very similar light to OP's postages...

And, the LED's work like nothing else in the dark....

I bought the Alpena dome light kit with 12 leds and installed it. The problem i am having is the leds are to big and the cover will not snap back on. I tried to move the leds around and ended up blowing the fuse. how did you get yours to fit?

I find that the LEDS are easy to remove and put back in(bigger than OEM). I found that the OEM glass bulbs are a pain in the ass. I found a way to get them out with a flat head screw driver. Almost poked my eye out the first time. Removing those bulbs can be dangerous. Just as dangerous as the blinding light of the LED's for the first time when you turn them on when it's dark outside.

Going to have to give these a try. I bought a set from a vendor on TW and in less than a year, they are burning out. Was even sent a bulb that did not even work! I have purchased lights from vleds and also superbrightleds in the past, but it is good to know of other brands that work.

My lens kind of bows around it but it's snapped back in place. There is probably a way to get it in there to sit flush. But its cold out and I basically slapped it in there and said good enough. The cover's not coming off

Thanks for being one of few people that actually understood the thread and me showing other options that are good options. I really don't care if somebody got similar output for $20 shipped from China or another member. That's fine with me, I bought mine because I was able to try them before I bought them and make sure it was what I wanted. I have gotten LEDs online before that were crappy output just like the festoon style Sylvanias I tried.

It will be fixed on a warm day, or some night when I get home and the truck is warm. It is a pretty big LED brick for the dome assembly.

Got the 12 led dome assembly today. Wow that a big difference. Can't wait for the map led's to get here. Ordered them on Amazon same ones recommended and was about $30 with shipping. Thanks

Nice! I had my dad in my truck last night and I turned on the dome light hes like wow that's bright. So I turned on the two map lights and I think he probably felt like he was in a surgery room
