I still have some years before the porch sitting. Then again with how things are I may never get to do it.
    Work was real slow yesterday.
    Time for breakfast................

Sorry to hear about the knee problems. But, some encouraging news -- the wife had a "partial" knee replacement a couple of years ago and a hip replacement last year. Both joints are doing great .... she couldn't be happier about having it done. Just make sure you use a surgeon that is highly-recommended and well-respected.

Glad you are alright Rob. I hate driving around where I live when it snow because too many gerbronies(nice way of saying a-holes) don't know how to drive in it and there are accidents all over. They just have to get out to get milk, bread and toilet paper[IMG]...Be safe Rob.

    Saturday morning giggle:

    For the Older Than Dirt
    Gang...Four old retired men

    Four old retired men
    are walking down a
street in Ball Ground, Georgia. They
    turn a corner
    and see a sign that
says, "Old Timers Bar - ALL drinks 10 cents."

    They look at each
other and then go in, thinking this is too good to be
    true.

    The
old bartender says in a voice that carries across the
    room, "Come on in and
let me pour one for you!

    What'll it be,
    gentlemen?"

There's a fully stocked bar, so each of the men
    orders a martini.

In no time the bartender serves up four iced
martinis shaken, not stirred and says, "That's 10
    cents each,
    please."

The four guys stare at the bartender for a moment, then
at each other. They can't believe their good
    luck. They pay the 40
cents, finish their martinis, and order another round.

    Again,
four excellent martinis are produced, with the bartender
    again saying, “That’s
    40 cents, please."

They pay the 40 cents, but their curiosity
gets the better of them. They've each had two
    martinis and haven't even
    spent a dollar yet.

Finally one of them says, "How can you afford
to serve martinis as good as these for a dime
    apiece?"

    "I'm a
retired tailor from Casa Grande," the bartender says,
    "and I always wanted to
own a bar. Last year I hit the Lottery Jackpot for $125
    million and decided to
open this place. Every drink costs a dime.
    Wine, liquor, beer it's
    all the same."

"Wow! That's some story!" one of the men
    says.

As the four of them sip at their martinis, they can't
    help
noticing four other people at the end of the bar who
    don't have any drinks in
front of them and haven't ordered anything the whole
    time they've been
    there.

Nodding at the four, one of the men asks the Bartender,
    "What's with them?"

The bartender says, "They're retired people
from Florida. They're waiting for Happy Hour
    when drinks are half-price,
    plus they all have coupons..."

    No offense Jim[IMG]

    morning all:
    Are the Smilies Emoticons?
I had also posted that mine wouldn't work by just clicking on them.
When the guy fixed the Puter, they started working again by just clicking on them.
Saw a deer yesterday; about 400 yds. away, and standing in a field that was posted. :(
Looks like I'm going to have to depend on the Flinchlock.
There are very few tracks in areas that were all tracked up at one time. That means there are very few deer there. Snow tells all!

    Good one Ken!

Good to hear you're OK Rob. Just be glad it wasn't one of those crazy Canadians driving a loaded logging truck!
Mike should know what I'm talking about!

    Thanks Mike.

Thanks Ken... I will ... Liked the bar story.

It's like they know when they're not legal ... stared through the scope at a few moose waiting for one more brow tine to grow. ;). Sounds like your deer population is way down? :( Good luck finding one, Carl.

I will know more on Friday, I hope, the knee is stiff in the am and takes about 1/2 hour to loosen up.

21 days to go. As we said overseas, " Man you are so short you need a stepladder to look over a dime".

Have a great day gents. All I want to do today is reinstall our weather station.

    Hi folks

Thanks for the welcome. Turned 65 last week. Hey...it beats the alternative. Only complaint I have at the moment is the fact that we are caught in a deep freeze in my area (-19C) and, as an avid bowhunter, this makes it very uncomfortable sitting in a treestand for 2-3 hours waiting for that big buck to walk by. Not only is it damn cold, it's difficult to draw the bow back when your ass is frozen. :D

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention (not that anybody cares). I'm a semi-retired university professor (psychologist) and am now just teaching part time. It's great. I no longer have to worry about supervising graduate students, conducting research and publishing, and sitting on innumerable department committees. I just have to show up at class once a week and give a three-hour lecture. Keeps the old mind active and I love it.

    Cheers to all.

Lots of new folks today. AWESOME! Bigger pool of wisdom for me to learn from. But as the wannabe, I might be sitting on the steps before long. That's Ok, I'll man the cooler and fetch the beers with due respect. ;) Welcome all.

Waiting for feedback from the Wise Bearded One to Ken's funny...seeing how he is the FL Rep here. I'm sure it will come with a local weather report attachment.

    Only one knee ?
Try 2 stiff shoulders , tennis elbow , one wrist, I new hip, one old popping hip, ankle , lower back, .....................................
Gee you old farts complain about nothing....
    ROFLMAO..........
Hope things work out for you. I know how you feel seems to be a hollow acknowledgement but then the people in here know exactly what is going on.
They can do some great things. My buddy just got his knee replaced 6 weeks ago and he is doing great and going to start tennis up again soon.

Do you have your station online for others to see ?

It's been snowing here since about 5AM. Light stuff right now so we only got an inch or so. But, it's supposed to pick up tonight and we may get as much as 8 inches.

Welcome to all of the new folks. I hope you don't feel like I did when I first posted to this thread .... like I was crashing a private party !!

Larry, a psychologist, GREAT! Couple of questions ....

    1) Do you think there is any useful therapeutical advice that you can offer to the posters on this thread?

    2) When I've been flying my glider for an hour or more on a good day, I start to think I'm an eagle and I want to flap my wings, but I can't. Is there something wrong with me ??

    Just curious.

Yes just one knee and I am grateful. I just finished repairing the other knee with therapy after a fall in an airport this summer.

The station I bought, Davis Vantage Vue, is a mid tier model and does not offer on line capabilities. I could upgrade to a data module and capture data to a computer but I do not really see the value in that.
