So will I cause more issues and damage more stuff if I wait till vibration shows up. I asked someone else about this and whether it would be a good idea to just go ahead and replace it. They suggested waiting till the vibration show up or perhaps Toyota would issue a TSB.

I also saw the link to the tool that you use to change out the bearing. Is there also a link to the actual bearing itself and/or any other parts you may need?

I remembered reading through a thread where somebody had done it. I for whatever reason was thinking that qnyla was who had done it. I have about 20k on my ECGS bushing, no problems thus far. I would do it again should I ever trade for a newer tacoma.
Edit: My truck is stock and I started getting vibes around 40k, which was when I replaced the needle bearing with the bushing, my cv shaft was starting to get some light scoring already and the needle bearing was showing signs of wear.

    +1 agreed

Just get it done and forget about this issue. If I get another Tacoma, I will put the ECGS bushing in as soon as I put on the lift.

About to hit 145k miles in a couple weeks, which will be 25k miles with the ECGS bushing installed. Still not seeing any issues or anything. So glad these guys seem to know what they are doing!

Hats off to the guys at ECGS, they changed my bushing in less than an hour. And for the 130 mile trip home no vibes in the front end! Highly recommend these folks! Toyota should take note and get rid of those shotty needle bearings.
