Yeah, if funds are tight, I may go that route, but again it will require new wheels so it may not be cheaper in the short run anyway.

 

I like the Nitto's but they are damn heavy. My spare is the Terra Grappler. I like the Toyo MT's though. My buddy has em and he drives 250+ miles round trip every day to work and they do great. But I want to try a skinnier tire first and see how I like them before going any bigger I think.

 

mike i completely agree here. we have all seen the pics of how trucks look after wrecks with and without plate bumpers. I dont buy the "bumer wont help you in an accident". At a certain speed yes, but i dont think the frame will buckle in an accident at city speeds. The bumpers just keep all of the body panels and grille and front end parts from getting mandled most times. Get rear ended and shoved into the person in front of you, that bumper will keep your truck from getting damage, if I slide into a jersey barrier comming down from the ski hill because of ice i know that bumper will keep my front end from getting damage vs is I just had my stocl bumper. I think for the price of it, compared to a repair job its cheap insurance.

a bumper is great for fender benders and probably stuff below 30-40mph..anything over that..it does more damage then good.

But really..not matter what, i think insurance companies would rather "total" a car now days then fix it anyways.
