15'' Wheels on a 07?

I just bought a set of Michelin m/s2 for everyday driving (265/70/16. I want to get a new set of wheels and tires for wheeling. 15'' wheels and tires are cheap. I was seeing if anyone knew if I could get 15 on my truck

They won't clear the calipers on a 6-lug.

Many aftermarket 16's won't even clear.

 

What he said. Will not work. The only Tacos that can take 15" wheels are the five-lug models.

Best practice is to use the tire and wheel size your vehicle came with.

 

I saw a 2nd gen prerunner with 15's a long time ago, had some 2.5 inch wheel spacers.

No shit the guy also told me he tried to grind down the caliper to get them to fit and ended up having to buy a new one.

 

Dam ok I did not think going down a inch would make much of a difference. Thanks guys fro the info.


Do many people on here run 2 sets of wheels? one for everyday and one to wheel with?

 

It's not uncommon... or summer/winter sets so the nice alloys don't get chewed up by the road salt.

Keep in mind that when you switch to a backup set of wheels, your TPMS light is going to come on.

 

Ok well that is a valid point about the tpms. But I really just want a good set of tires and wheels just for wheeling. I would be running low psi so not sure if the light would bug me to much

 

Why?

Low PSI is good for floatation, but bad for hydroplane resistance.
