Went to dealer (knoxville, tn) and drove a dc, 4x4, offroad, tow, 09. I was pretty impressed. I was easily impressed though coming from a loose 96 f150. Salesman Rick was good and laid back. 3 things came up though I would like input on...It drove real nice up until 55-60 and the steering wheel started vibrating real bad, the salesman even noticed and of course said theyd look at it...Im not buying this specific one, but does anyone else have this vibration at high speeds? It was pretty bad. 2nd, Knoxville Toyota has a lifetime warranty on the powertrain. It is no extra cost (im sure you pay elsewhere in the price). I was quite surprised by this. He said the dealer actually has an insurance policy on it. It has a 100$ deductible, but can be used anywhere in the nation. Anyone think its worth buy from knoxville just for this. At the very least it should make you all feel good about the risk they are taking on the powertrain. Obviously if it was a low quality product they wouldn't insure it. 3rd he said 2010 will be here in 45-60 days but of course had no other news. Has anyone tried to place an order for 1? How do you even start to bid on it? Thanks for any input. This site has been awesome for research!

I have an '06 DC Prerunner with no vibration at all. A friend of mine has an '07 DC 4x4 and also no vibration. I'd suspect a balance problem, possibly from delivery.

Technically a 2010 Taco should be very diff from the 05-09 why ??? i thought the new shape changes every 5 years so if we got this shape in 05 arent they suppose to change it again in 2010 ? BUt on the other hand they did not change the 1st generation shape for 10 years . . . . ????? humnnn confused..

Sounds like a tire balancing issue. I had it where it started vibrating around 55 and stopped around 65-70. Got the tires balanced, and all the vibrations went away.

Nope, reports are saying redesign will be around 2012. 2009 just had a pretty big overhaul, it just wasn't cosmetic.

Also if there was a redesign we'd know/have seen it by now, it would be announced for preorders or it would be leaked like every other redesign. The 4runner is getting redesigned for 2010 and its been known about and all over the net for months.

I've been told by two dealers that the changes for 2010 were 'very small'.

Only rumor I've heard that would be plausible and meaningful would be Dual VVT-i. It wouldn't be major but would help with engine efficiency.

If not that I'd expect little things like the smoked headlamps or new door panels on the '09 and new colors.

    secret stuff.
Do the cash for clunkers, you'll get $3500 plus the current $1500 rebate. I ordered my Mag Gray double cab TRD sport, currently have them down to 23,700 not counting the clunker. Hell, I might go leather if the clunker bill goes through! Only so many vouchers are available nationwide so I'm glad if I get it, but not putting too much hope just in case it doesn't pan out...

09 TRD Sport here, no vibrations to speak of. I would imagine that with only a couple months until the 2010's launch, if there were any major changes we would've heard about them by now.

    Good luck!

I've got vibration as well. Had the tires balanced, that helped but now it's come back but not as bad. I'm having the dealer check it again Fri. & do a forced balance to see what the issue is. It also vibrates when i decelerate using the brakes around 35.

I am not impressed with the cash for clunkers. We have a '97 subaru outback with 213K on it. Does not qualify for CFC as it gets too good gas mileage. Another "stimulus" I do not qualify for. If so i would buy a new truck right now. Congrats on that price. Hope to get the same (truck and price).
