My Duratracs were excellent coming home from a Christmas party last night around 11. We had a couple of inches of snow on the road that hadn't been plowed yet, and I had to really work at it to get them to break traction. And even then, they were providing traction, it was just a little squirrelly.

 

They're a great tire. I hope I won't have to trim too much when I put the 285s on. Well see

 

So far my nearly bald Terra Grapplers are doing great in this stuff. Thinking of picking up another set in 285 Terra Grapplers. Also been looking at the Duratracs and General Tire AT2. Only thing is the Duratracs don't come in D load like the other two.

The Toyo mts are kick ass in the snow so far. Being skinny might contribute, but I was surprised how much the latch on.

 

Cam what load range are those D or E?

 

E i believe.

 

Probably. Most of the one I see are E. Load D are very limited.

The general grabber at2s are an awesome tire. Had mine for almost 3 years and never once got stuck in anything. Only reason i took them off was because i up graded to a mud tire.

 

This is the first time my mickey T baja claws have seen the snow and they are fantastic. I motored right through the almost 3 foot snowbank the plow man put at the end of my driveway.

 

They're only $4 more per tire than the Nittos. They also look slightly more aggressive too.

 

also running the general grabber at2s! they're an awesome tire. recommend without hesitation.

 

The generals will last probably double the life of the nittos too.

 

I've seen mixed reviews for both regarding tread life. I have at least 40K on the Nittos. Moving to an LT tire will gain more tread also (13.9 vs 16.5)

I think i had just over 30k on my generals and had about 3/4 of the tred left when i sold them.

 

One thing I'm seeing in reviews is that the P rated Nittos wear faster than the LTs. My current ones aren't specifically rated P or LT, but they seem to be just under the line of what might be a C rated tire.
