Well boys, (and girls :D) the toyota left me stranded for the first time today. But, it's an easy fix. I need a new battery :( this one won't even hold a charge anymore. Sucks, that's another $100 down the drain! Oh well, I knew this battery was junk; just been waiting for it to die and today was that day. Tomorrow I'm going to get a new one!

Also, I think the best thing I could've put behind my seat was a set of jumper cables. Had to use those bad boys three times today.

Just read the thread. 4wd, no major rust, 125k, super minor body issues and missing a rear bumper. $800. Dude. That's a better deal than stealing it. Finish cleaning that sucker up, check underneath and make sure your frame isn't rotted, and get a rear bumper and if that frame is good, you're done buying cars for the next five to ten years.

Given that the belt was done back in 06, even with the low miles I'd get that replaced in the next year or so. Rubber dies whether its being used or not.

Congrats. And a lesson learned for me. I was looking used and finally bought new because here in SoCal used Toyotas go for not much less than new ones, unless they're 30 years old and have major damage. I should have gone out of state and paid the DMV fine, it would have been much cheaper.

5-10 years, I wish :p haha, the frame isn't perfect, plus being in the U.P. of Michigan, I would be lucky to get two years out of it. It's not falling apart, but the frame does have some rust. It's going to be one of those trucks that rust gets it before the engine will. Everything I'm doing to this truck is removable, so when this one dies I'll buy a newer tacoma or tundra and be on my way! :)

I think the next major thing I do to it, maintenance wise, is putting new tie rods on. But that's after I get a pipe bumper welded the front and back, and put some more lighting on :)

Quick update: I'm ready to place another Amazon order :)

This time it's a 4' Firestik kit, a Cobra ESD9270 radar detector, a cobra hard wiring kit, and a cheap PA speaker. After everything it came out to $131.57. Hoping to order sometime next week!

My taillight housing fell out last night and on my way home I saw the classic red white and blue lights behind me. Wonder what that could be

He just wanted to tell me about my taillight, my bumper, and my "police lights" aka my Christmas wreath lol. No ticket, he was cool about it.

Dude, nice truck. Brings back memories of being 17 and driving my first ever "new to me" truck.
Keep up the good work. Subbed.

Sadly, things change. Not getting dual antennas or a cobra detector anymore. I figured what's the point, I never speed anyway unless I'm certain no one else is around.

However, I did buy a 4ft antenna and a PA "powerhorn". I installed them this morning, and they're both awesome. I'll take some pictures tomorrow. Also have enough money left over for some off-road lights :D

I'm getting my new lights Monday.

Edit: almost forgot, "Santa" brought me a craftsman 220piece tool kit for Christmas :D

    Hey TW people!

Haven't updated with pictures in awhile. So here we go!

This was a few weeks ago in Cornishtown in the Upper Peninsula, it's an OLD place that is pretty much falling apart from the mine caves underneath it. That's why there's the fence by my truck. It's safe to drive through there as long as you stay on the road though. Hadn't been plowed all year, still made it through in 2wd

Looking good! I remember when my odometer showed 125,000. Was about 9 years ago....:D
Nothing like a brand new set of tools to spark that build fire. Now get to wrenching

I'd like to say that same thing in 9 years :D

Too bad the rust will get my truck by then :( oh well. Hopefully then I'll have a newer, nicer Toyota :) I'm thinking tundra with a 6" lift, white in color, and everything else black and chrome  one can dream!

Moved my CB to the ashtray slot. Also put my fog light switch to where the AC button normally is, because my truck from the factory never came with it.
