Things I might do:

Remove sound system (I installed before I went on mileage fit)

Remove HIDs (static on fm sucks)

Note: I removed 90% of unnecessary weight from inside, like the manual, tire pressure gauges, CDs, 1 umbrella instead of 2, etc, etc.

 

I am running the AFE Cold air on mine and it has the open filter in the bay and when I am moving it is with in 2-3 degrees of the outside air.

 

Cool I guess this gues isn't full of it.

Lower it and get a aeroshell.

The scoop actually is in a low pressure zone.
If you were to open it up, it would be a hot air exit.

 

If I land a firefighting job, or any other job paying me $50,000 or more, yes I'd install a Belt Alternator Starter (BAS) that would be pricey...

 

You can thank me later on this one lol...just make your hoodscoop a functional snorkel...that way you don't have to drill through the firewall. Wouldn't be as high, but still higher than engine bay.

Thank you. If I had to do it all over again now knowing that I'm being laid off...I'd buy the fan again. Probably not all the other stuff. So far Fitch Fuel Catalyst works more like a vacuum, because it SUCKS!!!!. Still waiting for something. Now it's the Bitch Fuel Catalyst to me...

It rained so hard for 3 days down here in FL and the storms drains couldn't handle it so the streets had about a foot of water standing. I saw a couple of small cars stopped in the lanes.

 

I also wanted to get the Uni-Chip, but $599? Really? Wtf? Does it save any...and I mean any gas?

 

Which is why I have a 4x4. Can't be cheap with everything, but yes I'm cheap with gas. I hate pumping gas. I know how to make a car electric, but I'm just waiting for my engine to blow. Having electric would be best after this motor, but until it blows, BAS would keep me smiling.

What reduces noise also provides space for water to collect.

When I had my AFE installed, I noticed that the heater core was always "HOT". Even with the heat off, it was burning hot. Put your hand on the carpet/plastic housing of lower center console by the gas pedal. If really hot, your engine is running hotter than normal.

 

Intake is not going to make a difference in coolant temperature.

The heater core is ALWAYS running at coolant temp in the Tacoma.
Some vehicles, moving the heater control to "hot" diverts coolant to the core, but on the Tacoma, the heater core is always at coolant temp, and the temp dial adjusts the position of the mixture door.






But you knew that.

 

Honestly, is 400 miles per tank...(city)...normal for a 6cyl 4x4 automatic? Did I do something revolutionary by hitting 400 city, or is this common for others? Remember...4x4.
