So you take the truck apart all the time and put it back together same day but apparently don't ever test it? It really is not that hard to hold a phone sideways when you take out and test your prized poseasion with all the hard work.

Haha oh really? So there are no other weak links in the "kit"?

Perhaps the stock arms that got extended 3" with a stick welder and angle iron?? Naw couldn't be. Better than stock in fact!

There's a member on here who had LCA snap while turning into a parking lot and slamming on the brakes because a car cut in front of him so I'm a little confused by what you are talking about with just a rock or hit being able to break it

Great info. Now I know I can start on my new LT with this old 1/8" x 1 1/2" angle. I've got an old bed frame to source plenty of it.

Just checked the bolt hole location and it almost lines up with a LT bed kit that I picked up before this MT bed kit. Downside is you still have to put in $.75 everytime you want it to vibrate.

Yeah, graded bolts are too expensive, but since there will be hardly any stress on them I should be good to go.

So you guys all think the upward force from the ground. Which is traveling through the tire, wheel, hub then going into the shock and spring actually has the ability to turn into the hub and then direct pressure through the arms toward the crappy welds...no

There are stresses on the arm but not as much as you think. Imagine how fast the stress builds on the arm when your shock bottoms out...thats when the entire force of the impact is transfered to the arms. Under normal articulation and up/down impacts the shock and spring take the pressure.

I'm sure the op realizes his parts are in the development stage and he should only be testing them in very small increments. Don't be like well i took that at 20mph... Gonna try 80 now.

The facts are most of you aren't welders or fabricators, or racers, and don't know where and when forces are being applied and what it takes to break this stuff. Most of the trucks on this site just pound pavement and the owners "be off popin each othas a$$holes" on the forums all day. y'all are haters.

I bet if the op had clean paint and powder coat on those parts you all would drool on his shit loll.

Not to mention he could go out and completely destroy his kit... And build 2 more for the price of yours. Not to mention how much he would learn from breaking and fixing it, all the welding practice, test new designs, everyone has to start somewhere

how about lets completely destroy the kit off road, and not on road.

did we say all the upward force? where is the ops bump located? im pretty sure it hits off of his arm and not his spindle. thats where most of the force will be at.

HE DDS THIS TRUCK. yeah lets test this shit on the freeway!!!! R&D baby R&D!!!!

    edit:
and no im not a fabricator, but i have common sence.

The coilover botls to the lca...yeah the coilover, that is designed to absorb the impacts...dumbass. Put a steel rod where your coilover goes...now that will be some serious force on the lca

All parts can break, thats fine. i think 90% of purpose built vehicles break every time you use them. Other wise you wouldn't need one in the first place, just use a stock truck or buggy from sports authority. After market/custom parts break too.

I need to jumo in here. I have been building off road race rigs for over 20 years (mostly class 5 bugs) but I can tell you that the jacked up welds on the OPs suspension is a recipe for disaster. It WILL break and it will break in a way that will cause a catastrphic failure. Taking stock parts and butchering them into a monstrosity of metal with goose shit welds is not a way to "learn form your mistakes". It's a way to kill yourself or someone else. My point is to leave the development up to experienced developers. Cowboy fab is dangerous.
